baikal seals, or ladoga seal pls

They're my favourite seal types

i’ve done an info post about ladoga ringed seals so here’s one about baikal seals!

baikal seals (Pusa sibirica) and lake baikal, the lake they exclusively live in, are so cool! lake baikal is the deepest lake in the world coming in at 1,642 meters deep! it’s also one of the oldest, being roughly 30 million years old. like ladoga ringed seals, baikal seals became stuck in the lake after glaciers melted. now they are completely isolated! lake baikal is in siberia, so it’s VERY cold. they use the thick ice on the lake’s surface for protection, females make little dens of ice to protect their young! they can also carve out holes in the ice to breathe. since lake baikal is so deep, they’ve evolved huge eyes that take in a lot of light to see underwater.

american blackbirds are icterids but european blackbirds are thrushes but american robins are thrushes but european robins are flycatchers and they are named robin because (checks notes) brits in the 1400s called them "robert" on account of they are just some familiar guy who shows up in your yard. hold on post canceled is that really why they are called that? what the fuck. they did this with jackdaws and magpies too? i can't even be annoyed. how human. Vol. 3 of From Scones to Hearth: A TOH Cookbook Zine is a "go"!

We'd like to announce that thanks to really promising responses from our interest check form, we'll be proceeding with yet another volume of the zine. Thank you so much for your support, and with the official graphic novel being released in late September (not as far off from now!), there will be exciting new lore and storylines to inspire creative works for this next volume.

Most responses for the interest check form preferred a Vol. 3 release date for the fall season (therefore, fall 2027) which provides a lot of comfortable room to brainstorm, geek out, chat with fellow TOH fans, and create recipes and other fanworks to continue celebrating TOH!

We'll be putting up a schedule for this volume in time, so follow us for more developments.

This is so funny, because people really be just people forever and always. Older generations are feeling old, and the younger ones are blissfully unaware how their joust and fun remain mysterious to the old.

This is basically 6-7 in a nutshell. Nobody old gets it, other than you're supposed to repeat it a certain way and do a hand gesture when you see the numbers 6 and 7.

But it'll feel like a snowball every time.

I think the difference is whether or not the old choose to be merry about it, or annoyed, at the youth for having their youth to themselves.
