continuation of the tale with @bratxprincexlestat
When Amadeo woke up the next morning, he hardly had any memories left. His body felt sore in so many ways. It felt like someone had sucked all the energy out of him. Reluctantly, the mortal rolled out of the bed after a while because he had to use the bathroom. Each step taken felt like a great struggle. It took Amadeo quite a while to figure out that Lestat must have dressed and washed him because he couldn’t remember putting those clothes on, nor had he ever worn a bonnet. The mortal looked into the mirror, but it wasn’t the usual reflection that looked back at him. Amadeo looked tired, as if he had drunk too much the night before. No, he looked like he did substances. And certainly, this was what he did. Amadeo faintly remembered drinking Lestat’s blood, but everything after that first little sip was blurry.
“You need to be more careful next time, Amadeo,” he muttered to himself before he gathered all his strength to wash his face and brush his teeth. It took him a bit of time to do some skincare and put some concealer under his eyes (luckily, it was one of the few things he took with him). Amadeo then took off the bonnet, did his hair, and got dressed. When he walked back to the bedroom, he got dressed when he heard a knock on the door. Quickly, he rushed over and was handed a bouquet of black dahlias along with a letter. Such beautiful flowers. Amadeo searched for a vase first to put the bouquet into it after he let some water run into the vase. He left the vase in the bedroom as he found the flowers most flattering in that specific room.
After Amadeo read the letter with a smile on his lips, he went on with his day. It was already afternoon, and Amadeo hadn’t eaten anything yet. At first, he talked to one of Lestat’s bodyguards, and as he and Lestat talked about it, he asked the man to gather Amadeo’s stuff from the suite. In order to help the bodyguard, Amadeo wrote Maurice a text message. Then he grabbed the card and his bag to leave the Gotham suite. No matter how sore he felt and how exhausted he was, Amadeo grabbed a snack at the diner he had already eaten at the previous day. Then he stopped by a seemingly high-class lingerie and bedwear boutique. Even though he had forgotten a lot from the previous night, he still remembered the demand Lestat had. Amadeo bought a set of purple silk pyjamas with shorts and long-legged trousers, along with some silk underwear.
The model kept himself busy enough that he didn’t notice the certain craving he felt. It was like the craving someone would feel when addicted to cigarettes, and it would certainly crush him if he paid any attention to it. With a shopping bag in his hand, he quickly walked back to the Four Seasons Hotel and made his way back to the Gotham Suite. Amadeo left the shopping bag on the couch in the living room. Then he put Lestat’s card back where he had taken it, and only later, he notice the light blue suitcase with all his belongings in it. What a pleasant surprise.
For the rest of the day, Amadeo rested a bit as his behind was still aching. Was he walking funny? Amadeo widened his eyes now that he thought about it. Maybe he should’ve thought about it before he left the suite.
Five minutes before dawn, Amadeo moved to the room where Lestat had his coffin and sat down on the ground next to it. Amadeo leaned against the coffin this time because he wanted Lestat to see him as the first person after emerging from the coffin.
“Bonsoir, mon beau,” Amadeo said when he heard the lid opening.
