Hey Mr. Harrison I’m a big fan of your work here and admire your work with OwlChemy. I’m currently attending Full Sail University for Computer Animation and am I would really love to work for a VR company when I graduate in December 2020. And since I loved the Rick and Mitty game that y’all made. I would love to help y’all create content in the future. Is there any advice you could give me to help guide me in the right direction? Thanks you.
Best advice I could give is don’t expect anyone to hire you or show interest in you for something you’re not already doing on your own. If there’s something you want to have a future doing, you need to be doing it NOW.Â
And often,
AAaaand posting about it.
There’s never been more accessible tools to do that than there are now. If it’s something you care about, then set some small goals, download whatever software you need, and get on it ASAP!
Particularly if you want to be doing game art, it pays off in spades to show you can do more then produce assets. Showing that you can implement them into a functioning game in a practical and effective manner is incredibly attractive.
