Eowyn. How it was for you move in to the Shire?

It was a bit strange at first, being the only tall person in the Shire. I got quite a few looks from many of Merry’s relatives, particularly his parents. But his younger cousins seem to be fond of me.

Merry, what do you love the most about Eowyn?

I love how strong she is, both in heart and body.

For Frodo and Pippin. Being Merry’s cousins, how do you get along with Eowyn?

Frodo: Oh, Eowyn is an absolute delight. It’s an honor to have her as part of our family. She’s a sparkling conversationalist and an excellent cook. Our younger cousins in particular are very fond of her.

Pippin: You can say that again! It was a hoot to see the looks on Uncle Saradoc and Aunt Esmeralda’s faces when Merry brought a human home after having disappeared for a year!

Frodo: Pippin, we also disappeared for a year.

Pippin: Oh, that’s right. Another great thing about Eowyn being in the family is we have plenty of embarrassing Merry stories to tell her! I’d tell some to Sam about Frodo, but he already knows all of them.

Frodo: Pippin!

Merry: I have to choose just one?!

Éowyn: Merry says he loves food almost as much as he loves me. Given that he’s a Hobbit, I’m pretty sure it’s either a tie or the other way around.

Where do you two live, in the Shire or at Rohan?

Merry: Oh, Wyn and I live in Brandy Hall most of the year. Prince Éomer and King Théoden come visit us for Christmas. We spend the summers in Rohan. They’re quite lovely. Not as lovely as Wyn, of course.

Éowyn: The Shire is lovely as well. Everything’s so...peaceful.
