Hello I'm Vermi...you might know me from twitter or you might know me from ao3. Either way I figure I'd make an account in case anything happens to twitter.

I love writing and drawing. Um, I'm not very good with navigating websites, so I can't say I can make anything very elaborate. It's probable that I will use this account more to lean on my writing, but then again I haven't fully made up my mind yet and can't resist posting art when I make it.

okay but I love RE2R Leon so fucking much and not for the reasons you think. I mean I do love him for those reasons too but like whenever I think about him I think about how much weight RE2R must have carried. maybe this is weird to say bc I'm a relatively new fan but I just think about how for 20 years people would have loved Leon primarily for his appearances in RE4 and 6. not to say that people didn't love him in 2, but given the advancements in technology allowing for better storytelling and graphics, much of Leon's character was seen in him already being an agent. the effects of his experience in Raccoon City weren't forgotten, but for all intents and purposes Leon was the sarcastic badass that seemed to breeze through the horrors of bioterrorism with a few quips and some unlikely acrobatics.

and then RE2R comes in and all of a sudden Leon is. young. earnest. idealistic. a perpetual optimist. the through lines of his character are still there—his determination, his drive for saving people, his strong moral compass, his kindness—but we also see all the things that have been stamped out of him. and it's just a very special kind of heartbreaking to know and love a character for a long time, and then suddenly get the opportunity to see who they were before. and to know that you'll never, ever see this version of them again.

idk man it's just. if I was a fan prior to 2019 and I had to experience seeing this doe-eyed rookie cop where Leon Kennedy was supposed to be, I don't think I could recover from that kind of psychic damage

(after watching a joyful loving movie) yeah it was good and all but i just wish a character had gotten stabbed five times and left for dead in an alleyway and then found by their loved ones at the last minute so they could be fussed over

this is meant positively by the way. sometimes you love the character so much you end up putting a piece of yourself in it to learn how it is to love yourself without realising and thats ok.
