Context: I found out Orobas and Warb share English VAs with Legoshi and Louis from beastars and went crazy 🥹 for reference I got into Beastars and Mairuma at the same time (2019) and was a huge Lougosi shipper so seeing their VAs in another ship I was already interested in made me crazy about them immediately

Context: iirc this was in reference to the misfits’ music festival afterparty chapter where they forgot to dilute some drink and get wasted???? Idk but an old moot on twt said smth along the lines of “I think drunk Orobas would be a kisser” and described this scene so I locked in

and finally my ancient art of bro…one was me sharing how I imagined his color palette being before I noticed him in the bg of season 1. like bro like I LOVE Bonny and Gyatts, as well as Warb, Orobas, Eiko, Gaako, and the other girls (Konatsu, Haruno, Dosanko, and Asuki) and also many others.

But in the main manga we don't see them pop up that much, like warb and orobas last appearance was during opera-sensei side arc (or smth) and for Bonny and Gyatts, THEIR LAST APPEARANCE WAS IN THE MUSIC FESTIVAL ARC, WITH THEIR LATEST APPEARANCE BEING IN THE WAREWARE MANGA WHICH ALSO TAKES PLACE IN THE SAME ARC.

Though I wish to see the wareware cast again, I have to respect and accept the fact that they already disbanded last year so- 😔

As for Eiko, Gaako, and the Class B girls, I don't even want to point how they are not having more screen time.

And yes though they are side characters and the manga focuses on the main cast, I would still like to see them appear more in future chapters, they should honestly make them appear in the after school manga or make another spinoff manga featuring them bc I need more pictures of them SO BAD RNNNN

I also rlly love the side characters, but with the current arc it's highly doubtful we'll get to see much of the recurring ones. (For bonny, gyatts, warb, and orobas, they were mostly one off characters for harvest and music festivals iirc?? If we get side character screen time it's most likely gonna be eiko or the class b trio+dosanko.) With all the current dramatics, it's more likely to focus on the misfits, particularly the love trio, ameri, the villains, and the higher ups (political drama). Generally characters who are closer to iruma or involved in the plot. If we do get see the side characters, it's probably gonna be ro show how much of an effect iruma had on his surroundings even aside from his close circle, probably rumors about his disappearance (likely characters like warb, the class b girls, etc), since it's probably gonna end up being classified, people being worried about it and missing him (more involved side characters like eiko or the first year ensemble), or worrying abt how irumas disappearance affected their friends (characters who are involved with characters who are closer to iruma like the student council, the class b girls again, nupie). I think it would be rlly great to get a chapter or two just looking at all the characters he's interacted with throughout the past arcs, even the ones that only showed up in 1 or 2 arcs like nova or the recurring side characters like you mentioned and show how they were affected by iruma and his deportation. (Sorry for kinda derailing your post with my own yap session 😅).

The Mairuma official translation might be wish washing the love trio meaning, but they're saying 'daisuki trio'.

I have been on this green earth too long, and seen too many m/f couples use the word 'daisuki' for a confession (or embarrassing/confusion mix-ups like in D.N.Angel), for them to pretend it's anything less then love in an affectionate+ manner. It can be friendly if you want, but we're dealing with demons as the main cast, and lore that has literally shown reverse harem poly. Between official and fandom, sky's the limit with ships in this series- monogamy/het does not have to be the default or only acceptable ship format

Also, shinyuu (idk how to spell that, lol) isn't a common word for besties that I've ever heard in what I've watched, so they're soulmates to me. (I'd say/feel differently if it were aibou or something.) Cause again-

((My actual feelings about this episode was that it was extremely embarrassing to watch and I had the hardest time getting through some of it. 😂😭 I'm not at all mad at the official translations either, cause igaf. Okay, actually, to add onto this, since I can't decide how the fandom ACTUALLY feels about this translation choice... I'm making a character analysis here to better explain why both the [mis]translated scanlation choice that was made is in its own way correct, as well as the official-

I think, for some fans, culturally, *we* don't see the big deal about making a friend into a Best Friend.

There are simply friends you have a deeper connection to than others. Thus, in terms of language, 'soulmates' has/evokes a deeper emotional meaning that was trying to be made in the text.

However, in this particular case, for Iruma as a character, having true friends is a novelty he grew up without... So upgrading to Best Friends is about the same/as emotionally stressful as a love confession.

That's why in the next chapter/episode, explaining friendship to the rest of the class is also kind of really embarrassing for him, because as we know, 'friendship' is not an understood concept/word, so explaining his feelings to a group he cares for is super awkward. It's a relief, for Iruma, to learn that everyone agrees with his feelings, even if they all immediately want to jump to the same level as Azz/Clara, because of course that seems cooler and deeper, and demons are greedy and want it all.

(This is also why I think, even if just platonically, Mairuma is very much so Iruma/Misfits, and cannot so easily be placed into a neat and tidy relationship category)

Hopefully this analysis of plot/Iruma's character makes sense, and helps alleviate any upset/stress any fellow fans are feeling about the official stuff.🤗
