Gordon could only feel pain. Through his entire body, from extremities to core. He hoped that maybe, just maybe, keeping his eyes shut and pretending this was all a bad dream could ease the pain, but he was grasping for straws here. He could barely move, as every adjustment of his body sent excruciating jolts throughout his limbs. The only thing he could do at this point was keep his eyes shut. Other than pain, he couldn't feel his left arm
Hey, you. You’re finally awake.
Gordon squints to see the man better, noticing how he looks like he had gone through worse then the experiment’s failure due to the bullet holes in his helmet and the scuffs in his uniform
Looks like some wound ya got there
the strange man says, the snicker he let out echoes through the test chamber before he gestures for Gordon to look to his left. the only thing Gordon sees is a large piece shrapnel from the rotators on his arm, blood covered the ground, the shrapnel and the left side of Gordon suit. Gordon wanted to scream, cry, vomit even but he couldn't, he was paralyzed with fear and pain.
So, are ya gonna get up on your own or do I have to do everything myself around here?
the strange man smirks and rolls his eyes before he puts one hand into his pocket and he grabs one side and moves it off of what once was Gordon's hand
Gordon mumbles to himself, his body aches and trembles as he uses his right arm to brace himself against a wall
the stranger cuts himself off.
Well isn't it the man of the hour, Gordon Freeman! Let me lend ya a hand here, but I think I could lend ya two.
The stranger chuckles before he extends a gloved hand to Gordon. Gordon takes his hand and pain shot up through him causing him to slightly stumble. The stranger puts Gordon's arm over his shoulder helping Gordon limp to the crushed exit
You’re like an angel, man… where did you even come from?
Oh trust me, you’ll find I’m no angel. I’m from here and from there, but I just happened to be here, now.
the strange man leans Gordon against a wall, who then promptly slides down the wall and sits down. The Stranger tapped his chin
Any idea how you and I are getting this open?
My brain hurts more than it usually does, and that’s the only idea I have at the moment, Mr…..
Gordon trails off, realizing his life had been saved by a man he doesn’t even know the name of.
the strange man hesitates
