To recap, irminsul got burned to the ground, dottore is dead, sandrone and columbina are no longer in the fatui and traveler got a new skin. Or at least those are the major plot points that stuck with me.
Uhhhh... i guess im glad i quit when i did? I know simply looking up a synopsis takes away all of the emotional impact the latest archon quest might have left on people who played through it normally, but i think i wouldve disliked it regardless. There's too much going on and i feel like none of it aligns with what most players (including myself) envisioned, especially with the high expectations set by Fontaine.
For me personally, i think the story fell off during Natlan (but idk if thats valid, given how ive been unable to actively engage with genshin since summer of 2024). But its not the same for everyone and thats cool.
Sooo... in honour of the five remaining fatui harbingers, heres a list of all the theories i had come up with after a Winter's Night Lazzo:
Pierro is Kaeya's father [UNCONFIRMED... i think??]
Capitano is based on the myth of the headless horseman. He lost his head somewhere in Natlan, hence why he marched his way there. Or he's some other kind of eldtrich horror with tentacles and shit [DEBUNKED]
Columbina has some kind of relation to the moon [CONFIRMED]
One of Dottore's segments will go rogue and join the Traveler, therefore making Dottore playable in a sense [DEBUNKED]
The Fatui will invite the Traveler to join them as a harbinger. The Traveler will accept solely because they promised to help them search for their sibling [DEBUNKED]
Capitano finally notices Tartaglia and agrees to a duel. Tartaglia gets his ass kicked but Capitano recognizes him as a "determined warrior" and that makes him happy [DEBUNKED]
Arlecchino and Eula are related [DEBUNKED]
Pantalone and Baizhu are related [UNCONFIRMED]
Pulonia will accompany Sandrone when she becomes playable [DEBUNKED - rip pulonia who tf is this new maid robot???]
Pulcinella is holding Tartaglia's family hostage [UNCONFIRMED]
Pantalone used to admire Morax but after his pleads for wealth went unanswered, he turned to the Tsaritsa for help [UNCONFIRMED]
Dottore got expelled from the Akademiya for flying too close to the sun [CONFIRMED]
Tartaglia will eventually abandon the Fatui and join the Traveler full-time [UNCONFIRMED]
