The simple green-and-white checks - of two different sizes - used in this modern Swedish bedroom were inspired by the traditional eighteenth-century fabrics of Gripsholm Castle. They provide a strong but uncomplicated foil for the intricate wallpaper, which is composed of eighteenth-century botanical prints protected by a yellow varnish.
