dear āfollowersā who have no āideaā what the fuck is āgoingā on i am so sorry but the āmianite fandomā has āsufferedā a personal ālossā of an entire goddamn offspin āseasonā and weāre āhavingā a āTIMEā
boy am i glad mianite ended five years ago and we got nothing else. boy am i- boy.
an open letter to the mianite creative team
Congratulations. You've redefined your legacy.
When I was younger, I dearly loved Mianite. I didn't miss a single stream. I was genuinely invested in the plot, the characters, and the world. It was the series that made me start writing, and the series that connected me with many of my friends. The story was engaging, the characters interesting, the worldbuilding complex but overall coherent. It was, to borrow a turn of phrase, quality content. The keyword here is was, because then Isles came along.
In the interest of not mincing words; what the fuck?
There have been so many dropped, abandoned, or simply incoherent plot threads in this season that we've gone from a lovely tapestry to something so tangled and messy that it's practically unsalvageable. What was the point of the rooted gem of darkness? The elemental stones? The darkness cat, or the mirror realm, or the purge, or legitimately any of the other promising starts that were abandoned in favor of incessant boatfucking jokes and over an hour of playing Connect-Four against a chicken? What was that entire incomprehensible bit about Ianite, her shards, a meteor, and the wizard order? Where did Angrec and the Darkness go? Why was Hermod reduced to "haha funny alcoholic marries boats" instead of a character of any value? Oakanite and Olivanite, what purpose did they serve? How about the music stone, or the contract with Dianite, or the Darkness potion? What was the point of any of it?
From a viewer's perspective, it seems like you truly do not care enough to write a coherent story, or even enough to keep track of what you have written. The haphazard, last-minute introduction of Aianite raises so many problems. Why was she the goddess of water when her siblings embodied moral alignments? Why was she the goddess of water when her sister was already openly declared goddess of the sea, so much so that a point was made for her temple to be built underwater? On a far pettier level, why is the goddess of water green? Why was she not the goddess of earth, other than the fact that that was declared to be Dianite's domain at the same time as the ocean was declared as Ianite's? Why was Aianite not made a goddess of life, or growth? Why has her introduction been so incredibly poorly planned, with no foreshadowing or setup?
I reiterate; what the fuck?
I am fully aware that I am going to be called a "tumblr hater" for this post. For the record, I would like to point out that I am not a hater, and that this is not hate. I am a fan who has loyally stayed and given Isles chance after chance at redeeming itself. This is frustration and anger, yes, but mostly sheer disappointment. This is exhaustion, and a last shout of constructive criticism to ears I already know are not listening. Isles has crashed and burned in the most spectacularly horrific way.
So, yes. Congratulations; you have created a disastrous implosion of storytelling, the likes of which I have never before seen, the likes of which this series will never recover from. Congratulations; you have done damage to this series which you can never undo, by what appears to be sheer apathy and a total disregard for the original seasons, alongside what is either a refusal or an inability to think things through.
I used to look up to you. I'm sorry that this is how it ended.

Mianite Stuff
So Iām not sure if thisĀ ādramaā has been resolved but I just wanted to talk about it because I have to stick my nose in everything alksdfj;klasd.Ā
From what I know, someone in the Mianite fandom said something likeĀ āall the gods are gayā (referring to Ianite, Dianite, and Mianite). They then said after (i think) some questions thatĀ āat least two of them areā but Iām not exactly sure. Iāll also be keeping the identity of this person private simply for their safety but I just wanted to talk about how this could be/is harmful.Ā
So as most of the fandom headcanons Ianite and Dianite as either gay or bi but I know that some people ship Mianite and Karl together so that would basically headcanon Mianite as gay or bi (all of them could be panzexual tho but those are the most common headcanons). This series is made to be an open book from what weāve seen, we canĀ ābendā the characters how we want. This fandom is built off of headcanons of the characters we see, including Captain Sparklez, Syndicate, and Karl. I mean I even have headcanons for the series and Iāve made my own personal timeline from my headcanons. If the writers of the series start making itĀ āstricterā then it wonāt be as fun in my opinion, yes the series is starting to have a script when it comes to the events but those are the eventsĀ not theĀ āpersonalā lives orĀ āpersonalā events that belong the characters. If the writers start making so called scripts for theĀ āpersonalā events then it wonāt be as fun is what Iām trying to say. If they have a set sexuality, yes that can be great for LGBTQ+ representation but thatās also kinda taking away the open bookness of the series (please tell me if you disagree with this and tell me why so I can possibly change my opinion.)Ā
Now letās talk on what the person said about the LGBTQ+ representation of the characters. If what the Fandom member is rumored to be implying is what they were trulyĀ implying then that would be very problematic in my opinion and I think many others. Basically what people think they are implying is that Mianite is straight, Ianite is bi, and Dianite is gay now at first you may not see it as harmful but if you look at it closer it really is. (First I just want to say, Iāve only seen a few post saying that this is what the member is implying so if I am wrong please tell me and Iāll correct myself) Mianite is theĀ āgoodā god as seen in many peopleās eyes, he is the god or everything order and most of the timeĀ āorderā is a good thing so that would make him aĀ āgoodā god. Saying that Mianite is straight is like saying the Jesus was straight, Jesus was theĀ āgoodā god and many people think that he is straight all though there are many signs that he was not, you may not mean it but by saying thatĀ āgoodā god is straight is kinda implying that good people are always straight when that is not true. Making Ianite bi isnāt inherently wrong but she is the goddess ofĀ ābalanceā, many people sadly believe that bisexuality is 50/50, itās balance. Bisexuality is far from 50/50 as bisexuality can mean that you are attracted to more than one(1) gender, making the goddess of balance, which is associated with twoĀ thing, is kinda like saying that bisexuality is 50/50 you may not mean that but that is sadly the underlying tone. Now I think might be the worst one is Dianite, Dianite is seen as a gay man and there are underlying tones that this man is gay (Iām not exactly sure if itās been completely confirmed but I know nothing of it). Dianite is theĀ āevilā god, heās the king of the nether and basically the god of all evil, his skin is red, he has large horns, and his eyes are white basically all things you would make an evil demon. Making the evilĀ god gayĀ is kinda super wrong, now you can have gay villains, that is fine and give more inclusive but itās really only okay if the entire cast is full of diversity but sadly the main cast is three white men who are straight (at least two- no maybe⦠maybe Karl is the only straight one idk whatās going on with Jordan and Tom kdsjf;klajsd) so making the only gay (homosexual) god the EVIL god sadly has underlying homophobic tones.Ā
I think the greatest thing that the person could do is simply, let the fandom have the freedom of letting their favorite characters have their own sexuality. I think that the person couldāve said is that, the gods care more about personality (or in Dianiteās case attractiveness *cough cough* Sparklez *cough cough*) than gender or sex, that would give the person the freedom to tell the fandom that the characters arenāt necessarily part of the heteorsexual community while also letting the fandom have the freedom of making the gods whatever sexuality they wanted. Again this is all in my own opinion and I would love to hear your guysā opinion on the matter!
So I guess the TL;DR is there was this person who was in the Mianite fandom that said that all the gods were gay and that sparked a small controversy in the fandom (for a good reason), in my opinion the fandom member shouldāve just said that the gods care more for personality/attractiveness then gender and sex because that would give both the fandom member and the fandom to do whatever they wanted with the characters sexuality.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā
I found the screenshots, so making a post now.
But honestly, everyone on tumblr always jumps the gun on being offended and never reads the context.
Krys DIDNāT WANT to say what the gods sexualities were. Here are some screenshots showing that she really did want to leave it up to viewers to decide what they wanted to headcanon:
Followed by someone persisting and insisting for confirmed representation anyways:
So yeah. Maybe saying the āgood godā is straight and the āevil godā is gay is bad. But honestly? I donāt know what you people expected. If you pressure someone to decide sexualities on the fly, they arenāt going to put much thought into it.
Besides:
Overall, Krys definitely does not care what the gods sexualities are. Headcanon what you want, and take this āconfirmationā with a grain of salt.
Within the context of just the discord, yeah I get your point
But the fact that she brought it to Tumblr unprompted, and commented about one of the gods being straight on a post simply saying "all of the gods are gay" is eh. Along with her apology after the fact and her reaction within the discord to Tumblr in general just rubbed a lot of us the wrong way

This is a lovely summary of why Kr*s's answer was kind of the last straw.
And I'm pretty sure she back tracked on this statement by this point, but I would like the rest of y'all to know that she just straight up said Mia was straight, Dia's gay, and Ia's Bi. She wasn't just implying it
