The problem is identity politics and how they define “identity” as being mainly about things like gender and race and so on. 

If someone thinks “I don’t fit the masculine nor the feminine gender stereotypes, so I must be some other gender” it’s because they’re desperate to find out what their “identity” is. 

Then Intersectionality forces people who care about it to identify which of these groups they fall into, so they can know where they stand on the oppression ladder.

Where I grew up, if you asked people what they’d say their identity was, they would talk about where they were born, where they lived, at which school they studied, what type of jobs they had, what were their hobbies, … way before they even think about mentioning things like their gender or race, because back then we didn’t let these things define who we are, how we see ourselves and how we want to present ourselves to others.

If you ask me, the intersectionality and concentrated focus on gender, race and polarization is coming from people who seek to redefine and control how we see ourselves but only through their ideological filtered lens instead of what we’ve always known to be true and natural as evidenced by history and medical scientific facts. 

It is rather concerning when ideologues connected to the rich and powerful want to dictate simple things about our lives and our awareness of our sense of self and purpose that is in full contradiction on what we have always known to be and has been supported and is now controversial to talk about in a fact based manner. Very concerning considering the majority are being targeted by this new ideology being forced onto them and the youth when this ideology only appeals to a small percentage of the human race who lean a specific ideological and political direction.
