I get along without you very well, Of course I do, Except perhaps in Spring, But I should never think of Spring, For that would surely break my heart in two.
Chet Baker || I get along without you very well
sink my teeth in the sheets and taste the emptiness love is sweet, love is dark and it pulls your world apart, so you can grow now i see perfectly, oh how itâs clear what i needed the most was you here
Made in Heights || PirouetteÂ
The first line is "pour my tea, pour my thoughts..." and what a great line. Some nights it just feels like my heart is steeped in regrets and I only taste the bitterness.
Childish Gambino || Telegraph Ave (Oakland)Â
I got furniture to move, and we'll both be 30 soon
In Oakland, in Oakland
That moment when you hear one line and you're like oh, that's the story of my life. Â
When my jam comes on right as I walk into the bar
BANKS || Someone NewÂ
And I am ready for you, baby, I am ready for you now.
I'm not ready for you now, please don't hate me.
So much heartache </3
Chet Faker || 1998
We used to be friends.Â
We used to be inner circle.Â
Love the juxtaposition of the bubbly instrumental and the bitter theme of estrangement.Â
Chamois, Italy â Alessandro Laraspata
I saw this quote today at a restaurant:
"We come to this world empty-handed and we leave this world empty-handed. How do we want to spend the time in between?"
Then I saw this quote today on facebook:
"Hold everything in your hands lightly, otherwise it hurts when God pries your fingers open."
I think someone's trying to tell me something.Â
SOHN | Lessons
Of lessons learned, of lessons learned Of bridges burned, of bridges burned This time I'll do things differently This time I'd like to need you less
I'm struggling, I'm struggling I've given in, I've given in This time I'll keep an overview This time I'll keep away from you This time I'll keep away from you

when things got tough
i flew a million miles like a shooting star
i had to get as far as i could goÂ
So long weâve been distant now, Since you set out on your own, You told me you had to find something to believe in. Never thought youâd ever leave, But as you walked out the door I pray that you will soon find All that you needing. And while youâre out there on your own, If the rain starts falling, Or you get too cold. If you need a place to go, Oh, I just want you to know Itâs alright, itâs alright, itâs alright. Oh, you can come to my door, I donât mind, I donât mind, I donât mind at all.
At first it sounded like just another love song about an estranged lover, but reflecting further on the lyrics, it actually reminded me of the parable of the prodigal son. Thinking about the love that parents (and if you are spiritual: God) give to their children always moves me to tears. One day, I'll also have to face the everlasting struggle of all parents: the instinctual desire to keep our children sheltered versus the wisdom to let them explore the world to learn and experience things for themselves. I love how this song beautifully captures those moments of letting go, of loving unconditionally, and the happy homecoming.Â
me, myself, and I
happy one year anniversary to me of getting to know myself better. being ok alone. of learning things about myself and accepting the good and the bad. loving myself.
Dear universe:Â

We shouldnât judge someone based on one snapshot of their life, we should measure someone by the totality of their existence.
