Despite what the world has thrown at me, however, I have not given up. I have chosen to continue on and chase my dreams. I have chosen to speak out about the things that are important to me. I have chosen to love everyone that comes into my life. I have chosen to be a good friend. Although I was happy to visit my hometown today to vote, it was also my first time going home after Hurricane Michael. The pictures do not do the damage justice. Familiar parts of the town are completely unrecognizable, and some buildings completely destroyed. Amazingly, my house received minimal damage despite the destruction surrounding us. We are blessed.
