Thank you for your kind words. I’ll definitely take them to heart. Because hiding behind a gossip blog is super authentic.

I still think it would be useful, you never know when you’ll need to escape on a board.
Exactly. Especially from school. I swear, I love teaching and I love my students but some days I can’t even begin to deal with them.
rosiewinston:
I certainly enjoyed it, it’s a beautiful story and it was a wonderful production.
I’m glad. It was a great experience to help with it.
maluhialanikahala:
Uhhh.. no promises.
Well, at least attempt to conceal it, yeah? Can’t improve with you laughing at me.
Lucas & Open
lucas-peterson:
That sentence totally contradicts itself.
Where did you have in mind? And what kind of dancing?
Shh, no it doesn’t.
Okay. Don’t laugh. But have you ever gone swing dancing?
keiraholburn:
You think since so many surfers know to skateboard that I’d be good at it, but honestly I’ve never really tried it. I think as long as you didn’t fall, that’s a pretty good success.
Well, maybe you will be if you did. And I guess so, but sometimes it’s hard to transition from things even if they’re “similar”, like, I’m sure a snowboarder wouldn’t pick up skateboarding in the blink of an eye– but it’s probably easier for them than for someone without experience. I imagine it’s about the technique.
maluhialanikahala:
I’m free tomorrow.
Alright, awesome. Promise you won’t laugh because I’m sure to be horrible.
greeneyedloftlin:
I don’t have any idea, but I am sure you’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly
I won’t be too concerned if I don’t. It’s not exactly a top priority but it’d be fun to learn eventually.
wademarshall:
It might be different but I think that would be a lot harder. I’m crap at just rollerskatin’ so I probably could never stay up on ice skates.
It’s skateboarding, though. Different animal entirely. Really? Ha, I’m a really horrible person and can’t help but laugh when people flail all over the place on the rink. I’m rusty, so I’d probably do the same to be honest.
jhenejordanrp:
See, don’t get me wrong, I’m cool but I know my limits. ahah.
Jhené it’s nice to meet you, Michelle
That’s always a good thing.
That’s a lovely name– where’s it from? If you don’t mind my asking.
Songbirds || Aiden and Michelle

Life was better when you took it with a grain of salt and some laughter. Aiden didn’t mind being called a goofball, in fact he reveled in the title. It was true that the studio was his home, his place of business, but he didn’t treat it like work. It was an amusement park of creativity, ups and downs, adrenaline rushing and his mind opening up to all the different creative paths. Sharing that with people, watching that energy infect them filled the man with a joy. Music was for sharing, after all. He’d tapped at Michelle’s nose when she rolled her eyes. “You secretly like it and you know it,” he’d admonished with a wink.
“I’ll eat most of the food,” he shot back. “Are we going to end up having a karate fight over it? Cause I’ve watched a lot of ninja movies in my day, just warning you.” He didn’t dare say it out loud, but as he showed Michelle around, the melody to yellow brick road was in his head…except the tempo was faster, snare drums and electric guitar taking the music to a hard and less melodic place. He watched her as they moved about, catching the genuine interest in her eyes. Michelle looked like she belonged in the studio, her gaze fluttering over the unfamiliar tech pieces like they were familiar friends.
All thought went away when she began to sing. Her voice was soft, not bogged down by autotune or that whiney quality pop singers could get sometimes. It started like the tone of a mother singing a lullaby with love to a child, but there were powerful edges to it, a sense lingering of potential and power that the brunette was perhaps unaware of. When she stopped, Aiden began to clap, a wide smile on his face. “You went somewhere else,” he commented with a tilt to his head. “All the best singers do that…they go somewhere else when they sing, to the place that holds the emotion their song of choice needs. You’re a natural, Michelle.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Yes, you’ve caught me, Aiden.” Michelle held up her hands in a faux-surrender, rolling her eyes still. “I love being waited on hand and foot and treated like a queen for no reason at all.” She grinned, pulling her hair back into a pony tail. “Really, though, it’s a bit excessive, but...I’ll let it slide because you’re you, and you can’t help it.” She played with a ring on her finger as she walked through the doors of the next room, looking over her shoulder at him as he spoke.
“So it’s really selfishness then?” Michelle laughed, put her hands up, as if a boxer, doing a little one-two step. “Sure, if you’re ready to lose because my karate skills are...on point.” She threw a fake punch before actually poking his arm. “See? When I’m not planning classes, I’m honing my martial arts skills. You never know when you’ll need them. Especially in a high school classroom.” Michelle continued to take in the studio, observant eyes moving slowly about the room before turning to him to start.
As she sang, Michelle didn’t really think much of it. She focused on hitting the right notes to the song but didn’t pay too much attention to what she was doing beyond remember lyrics. It was fun, she had to admit, and she even forgot where she was for a split second before there was clapping. Mitch ducked her head sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck. “That’s embarrassing. Sorry. I just...I’m really shit about performing in front of other people. Unless it’s karaoke or I’m drunk. Either or.” Still, she smiled a bit letting him know she had actually enjoyed it. “If anyone’s the natural, it’s you Aiden...that was just a test anyway, right? You’ll give me something else to sing for real when it’s time?” She hoped that was how it would go, anyway. It would help her have a bit more confidence in what she was doing if he’d already approved it. If only because it was his track, after all.
maluhialanikahala:)
Yeah I could teach you. Might take a few days before I can get to it. I’ve got a busy work schedule. But I’m free on the weekend.
Oh and no guarantees about your street cred.
Yeah, of course, no rush, just for future reference. I’m always looking to learn something new.
Ha, well, one can hope, right?
I did it a bit when I was a teenager but I probably won’t be as good now. Probably eat shit if I tried again.
I bet you’re a lot better than me either way. I never skateboarded or anything as a kid. I ice skated a bit? But that’s completely different.
jhenejordanrp:
I busted my ass on those hover boards, I damn sure ain’t getting near a skateboard.
Ha, I feel that. I nearly ate it in front of my student. That’s what I get for trying to be cool, I guess.
I’m Michelle, by the way, don’t think we’ve met.

I’m 29 not 92.
So you say.
Prove that you’re not an old bag of bones and come dancing with me?
