Within the course of a week, I am in awe of what God has been doing in us and through us. The Spirit is at work within our hearts and I am beyond excited to be a part of this huge shift. It has required trust, vulnerability, and a lot of times where we would have to ask God to lead us in the great unknown. It is also a humbling time where we are admitting that we can not lead ourselves in this great mystery. Rather we have to trust God to lead us through the desert, guide us above the ocean's turning currents, and lead us in the dance. I have never experienced such a time as this where the Holy Spirit is instilling value, identity, and worth in His beloved bride. Where He is asking us to trust Him and for us to trust others in the body of Christ. As He is instilling identity within us, He is also asking us to know and to be made known...without being ashamed. To know, not just in our heads but in our hearts, that we are accepted in the Beloved. He even said the old has gone and the new has come. Embrace what the Lord says you are in Him. We are made new and we can stand side by side unashamed, knowing we have a new name.
I have also realized and have been a part of what God is doing within the hearts of his precious daughters. More and more, I am beginning the desire to be safe, secure, and cherished by someone who is willing to love and protect us. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this desire, it is how we have been wired. Yet, we have seen this desire go wrong and people go to things or other's without allowing Jesus to be their refuge and stronghold, their covering. What our hearts long for is a covering, a shelter, protection, someone who will take a risk and will step up to protect our identity and purity and who will encourage us to become who God has called us to be. Jesus is the one who will satisfy our need for this protection, who will be that rescuer we have all longed for ever since we were little girls dressed up as princesses, waiting for our prince to come rescue us from the tower.
It wasn't until last night that I received some insight and revelation behind this deep desire within our hearts. I realized that we want to be safe, secure, and protected. That has been made more than obvious through the many chick flicks, romance novels, and television shows we see nowadays. But why? Why do we crave this? Because we long for someone to see us as someone who is worth being protected because they are special, valuable, lovely, beautiful...someone that is worth being protected. We want to be cherished and valued. Last night I got this picture in my mind, and it was a familiar scene but with a new meaning. Imagine you see a precious stone, let's say a huge ruby or diamond sitting on a pillow. It is worth many precious stones and there is none like it. It carries great value. Because of this, there are many guards standing around protecting this treasure 24/7. They have no time to be passive or lazy about protecting this jewel, this thing carries a great price. Because the ruby is so valuable and precious, they know it is worth protecting. They know that it must be safe and away from robbers who would want this treasure for themselves. They would take a risk to stand against dangerous armed robbers to protect one ruby.
With God saying that He is our refuge, strong tower, and covering...He is also making it known to us that He wants to be that protection for us because He loves us and sees our worth. He sees how valuable you are. That's why His Son Jesus came to die. So He can come and redeem us from death, so we can be with Him forever, to be free, and to really live.
Know that today,tomorrow, and the days to come that you are cherished, you are loved, and you are precious. You are worth taking a risk. You are more precious than rubies. Jesus loves you and is calling us to be who He has made us to be.
