what bothers the spaceman
i went to both boston shows but the only video i took was dan levine's jump during doctor worm
I love this man's energy, it is inspiring.
not to be a dirty commie or anything but i don't think any one person should have enough money to solve world hunger and then get to decide not to
preach
my sister and i have a deal (we share a space) that while i'm working on finals i can play my music on the speakers and she'll just leave the room if she needs quiet or is trying to listen to something else, and also that she's not going to make conversation because i'm trying to focus on my work.
we had a bit of an exception just now. i chucked my phone across the room several minutes ago, so whatever comes on shuffle is what's playing. whatever came on shuffle was Violin, and she started losing her mind laughing around "mop. mop mop." and "speck of dust." by "one quarter of george washington's head" she'd calmed down enough to say "this is titillating." and that was the end of the conversation
the word choices of other sapient beings baffle me greatly sometimes
"titillating"
wild choice
Today I was chatting with two guys and mentioned I was aroace. It went a little something like this.
A: wtf is that
B: it means she’s not attracted to people in that way
A: bro you can’t just not pick a side, that’s crazy
B: nah, it just means she’s spectator mode
A: OHHH IT MAKES SENSE NOW
I have never felt more validated or laughed so hard
Whatever you thought was the worst superpower, you're wrong.
I am the Amazing Human Barometer and I am very tired of it.
Thought for today: Narrow Your Eyes was never a favourite of mine, but wow it hits differently in live versions.
Update: that switch in my mind (you know the one I am talking about) flipped and now I can't stop listening to the album version on repeat and it will get an instant TMBW rating upgrade
ah yes, TMBG, masters of the slow burn
ThEY HAD A KID THEY HAD A KID THE SCIENCE JOHNSHAD A KID DEFCON ONE DEFCON ONE
god I love Tomodachi Nonsense™
I was thinking of a pride art challenge people could do with their OCs, because I thought it'd be cute! A queer/trans artist with their creations.
but then I realised that same challenge would be infinitely more funny with folks who have atypical or horror OCs
love the vibes of the last one
the elder gods have awoken, and they wish to celebrate pride

Without searching do you know of a celebrity* that you share a birthday with?
yes
no
*Define celebrity however you'd like.
Also Hey Mick Fleetwood birthday twin 👋🏼
I share a birthday with a volcano :3
need to start lying to old people when they ask me things. “what’s your REAL name?” “what’s your REAL hair color?” um who cares what you see is what you getttt #oingoboingo
this is all there is to see, bask in the mystery, buddy
me: i need a good youtube video to watch. maybe even a great one
drawfee video where they spend most of it talking about an alternate universe where the beatles went solo and ringo starr hambones live on stage with no other accompaniment: exists
the chaos of drawfee is truly inspiring
Thought for today: it makes me sad that JL thinks that "almost nobody" cares about the music theory side of things. Like... does he even know the TMBG fan base? There are *definitely* a large number of music theory nerds (I use the term proudly) out here being happy and appreciative.
TMBG really is the band for nerdy people who are probably some flavor of neurodivergent and I can't counter that considering I am very neurodivergent. This is in addition to my description of the band as being "for the people who are depressed and tired of being depressed about how everything sucks and instead want to be cheerful and gleefully irreverent about how things suck".
spinnin
My 2-year-old likes to dance* to Turn Around. My husband disapproves because he says the lyrics are too scary to be suitable for a 2-year-old. I disagree. Please help us settle this dispute.
*specifically, she turns around... and around... and around... for the duration of the song and (obviously) falls over at the end
JF: I think you are going to have to sort that out between you two! The lyrics are pretty halloween...
I mean it could be worse, I was raised on "Storm Stories" from a very young age but I turned out fine.
Also brings to mind the scene at the end of Terry Pratchett's (also a fan of TMBG) The Hogfather. If you haven't read it I highly recommend it.
