Lavellan first arrives at the Lighthouse, everyone greets her politely and Solas acknowledges her with this incredibly awkward and stilted "Inquisitor." To which Lavellan cheerfully and assuredly replies "Vhenan."

Bellara (maybe Davrin too?) gasps, everyone else is like ????, and she nearly trips trying to whisper-explain to everyone else that the Inquisitor basically just called the fuckin Dreadwolf Sweetiepie Sugarbuns like it was nothing.

Look all I’m asking for is for Rook to suggest a plan and Solas tell them absolutely not and then Lavellan says “I agree…with Rooks plan” and for Solas to look so pained and like he’d fight anyone else but not her and then let’s out a strained “Very well” and it’s so tense between them and everyone else is just going

Just finished inquisition and found this fucking bullshit after the coryphipiss fight

(In regards to the orb being destroyed and solas despairing that it’s irreparable:)

LAVELLAN: “Are you sure? We could take the pieces, try to…”

SOLAS: “That would not recover what has been lost.”

No im sick like im actually sick trick weekes you are sick in the head for this one bc its so innocuous but it is also both of their character thesis statements in two lines fuck off.

She just wants to help him build a better world but he can’t. He can’t see the forest through the trees he is so stuck in his guilt and regret that he cannot process or move on from in any constructive way that he just won’t let. Anyone. Help. Him.

“I have to be a martyr. It’s what I deserve.” NO! YOU! DON’T! There are people LINING UP out the door to give you lifelines and you take NONE of them because your brain is so unfathomably traumatized over this thing you’ve done that has effected arguably for the worse the lives of every single person who has ever lived that it is actively refusing to do anything but hit the reset button. It rejects any other solution because any other solution means that it’s real and he has to live with it.

He can’t bear to look at an orb that’s been glued back together because it reminds him that he is the reason it’s broken. So better to just throw it out and start over.

I fully believe Solas didn't anticipate actually falling in love with Lavellan.

It started with the Fade tongue kiss and then he probably just fell more and more in love by watching her, talking to her, spending time together...until we get the balcony scene where he tries walking away only for her to TOUCH him and he's like ya know what I can't walk away from her even if it would be kinder in the long run.

Then he really fully commits in the Grove scene when he removes/offers to remove her Vallaslin. Then he's fully in and about to tell her EVERYTHING.

Then he panics, pulls away, and yeah, we all know. But he's still committed to her. Still locked into the romance.

Where was I going with this? Oh yes, Solas definitely lost his footing and fell face-first in love with a Dalish elf.

Sweet irony and also just another of his plans backfiring on a titanic scale.

i need everyone to consider vivienne and dorian bonding over taking care of the inquisitor after the end of dragon age inquisition as the mark progressively gets worse and worse. vivienne with her past of watching bastien get sicker and sicker and dorian doing the same with felix, and seeing it repeat with the inquisitor. take my hand 🖐,,

Saddest Solas line in my opinion.

When someone dies, the only comfort we can truly find is in the knowing that we once knew them and will always get to remember them.

But if you had the chance to share your exact sentiment and remembrance with someone else…wouldn’t you? To not have to be alone even for a second in your grief because a completely separate entity in the world remembers them exactly as you did? He literally cloned his entire perspective of her.

It makes me wonder at how foreign the old world must have been for phenomena like this to be so common. And how much Solas must have been hurting to allow Cole to do this for him.
