So we didn’t get really any direction to what’s next for Gigi and Mattias or Savannah and Rohan but both couples deserve a novella

Katalin, Edgar, and Thomas backstories (idk if these are their names bc of how confusing tgb made their family tree)

The tgg players doing press (I’ve always imagined that they would be as famous as a reality tv cast just by playing tgg)

Nora and Grayson at Harvard (I think it would be funny to see how they interacted)

One thing that I think is so weird about this book is the fact that you can clearly make out the fact that Lyra struggles with PTSD and was triggered by so many things in the first two books which lead to episodes and then you get to tgb and literally everything is dredged up about the event that gave her trauma and her literally only having like one episode is is a little insane to me

is reading the gilded blade worth it? i keep seeing people not being happy with it and it’s kinda bumming me out because i was lowkey excited (i also was simultaneously going in with no expectations lol) some of the criticisms are valid from what i have seen but i just want to know if context helps and if reading explains certain things

I think if you go in having no expectations it could be worth it and I think also going into it excited helps a lot. The thing with me is I simply would not forgiven myself if I didn’t give this book a chance and I’m glad I did. But I will say that this book solved more mysteries from the og trilogy and brothers Hawthorne than tgg and gr and felt like the finale to the og books. So there are def pros and cons but I would read it especially if you are looking forward to it!

Who the heck was Lyra in this book? I feel like I couldn't recognise her at all.

I can see what ur saying and I have mixed emotions about it bc I think that jlb tried to write a “healed” Lyra but you simply cannot heal in that amount of time especially when new things keep on appearing so I think she was supposed to be like the old version of herself but I also think jlb in a way she ignored the version that we had originally met but I think in some moments like when she was with her family you can kinda see a mix between the old and new version of her. I also think that the book was so rushed that we hardly got to see Lyra’s personality
