Who else could it be for my girl (well i say that but i also heavily considered belle) she is literally famous for her “cinderella story” and i also think they are both like dreamers anyway i think this is really cute
Lyra : aurora/sleeping beauty
I am VERY serious about this because hear me out, when aurora is born she is sent away to live with her fairies (the kanes) and away from her biological parents (katalin) and malificent is kind of like edgar because he tries to warn lyra kind of anyway, they go to live in the woods and briar rose/aurora makes friends with all the woodland creatures as she grows up, and then obviously on her 16th birthday she gets pricked, and when lyra was 16 she remembers the night when edgar killed himself thus turning her whole life on its head, and as much as i hate to admit it it IS grayson that helps her out of this depression
gigi : alice in wonderland
I dont really have an explanation for this one but in my head it makes a lot of sense, i made a post once saying i would put gigi in a wonderland type film and i think thats kind of stuck with me forever, i also know she is not a princess ;p

Again not really an explanation but i feel like their personalities are very similar and libby has always kind of given off strong mermaid vibes to me, ariels naivety also remind me of libby

Hello everyone & everytwo reading, this post will be about all of our (Smmr & Dove) current existing theories about JLB’s new book coming out in 2027. This is just what we’ve managed to gather from the VERY little peaks we’ve gotten (basing all this off of literal crumbs). Also keep in mind we’re both ocd asf (actual ocd not saying this for fun) so there's an immensely real chance we’re connecting dots that don’t exist but #well. #read

Briar (our theories on her character):-
I have a feeling Briar is going to be one of JLB’s more emotionally guarded protagonists. someone who’s the kind of person that’s difficult to get close to because she’s built emotional “thorns” around herself as a way of protecting herself. if her name is intentional (which it probably is, JLB has lots of meaning behind her characters names), the symbolism fits really well. I think she’s going to be someone who protects herself with “thorns”.
i also think she’s going to be a really strong fmc. One of the covers of JLB’s notebooks included the word “hunter,” which could be the mmc’s name or hint at what he does. If he's some kind of hunter, there’s an interesting contrast there. The contrast being hunters can cut through briars, but briars fight back with thorns. if that’s intentional (which i think it is), it makes me think briar won’t be an easy target or someone who’s easily understood. I could also see them having a cat and mouse dynamic, where he’s constantly trying to figure her out or catch up to her while she keeps slipping away. It feels like the kind of symbolism JLB would lean into.
JLB had a butterfly notebook in one of her posts, which hints at another possibility where Briar is in the start of a major transformation. That could be an emotional arc, where she transitions into a new world, or some kind of a self body reinvention/transformation. Her name could be a representation of someone who’s become guarded because of their past, while the person she is underneath is a resilient, brave, and capable girl. There also could possibly be a contrast between how other people see her vs who she really is. Maybe she comes across as closed off, but she's stronger than anyone expects. The butterfly symbolism is broad enough that it could apply to either her character, her circumstances or the plot.
A reason for people underestimating her could be because of her beauty. I think that might play a role in this story, if she is based on the character sleeping beauty, I think her looks will play a part in this story. because in the story of sleeping beauty, she is explicitly blessed with the gift of beauty by one of the fairies. I believe this could come with a downside. Beauty is often associated with people being underestimated, where they’re assumed to be less intelligent, less capable, or not as skilled simply because of how they look. Maybe briar has to constantly prove that she’s more than what people see on the surface.
I have a few more thoughts that stick out regarding jlb’s butterflies notebook. Butterflies rely on wild, overgrown places like brambles and wild roses for nectar and shelter. I think that’s an interesting parallel to briar herself: the plant looks thorny and uninviting, but it still provides protection and supports life. If that's intentional, Briar could be the kind of character who seems difficult to approach but ends up being someone others find safety, strength, or comfort in.
On a side note we believe Briar’s name could be “Briar Rose”. Considering all the things we have related roses to her character. We also think it could be a retelling of the story “sleeping beauty” in a small way (JLB loves parallels). Sleeping beauties real name is briar rose, so that could be the name of our FMC. So Briar Rose seems like the PERFECT fit.

Hunter (theories if it’s a character name):-
Now I think the MMC is named Hunter because of a post JLB made back in April where there was a notebook green in color and the word written on it was… well Hunter! And the caption was in her exact words:- “My current notebook. Read into this what you will. #WorkInProgress #SecretProject”
So one way to read into it is well a character name because in her latest post about this current book she strategically showed us the name Briar. Not a lot of things with JLB are a coincidence.

Now let’s move onto the significance of the name Hunter…
Hunter means "one who hunts" or "pursuer". It comes from old English roots and started as a last name for people who worked as hunters.
Vibes: Strong, earthy, rugged, and adventurous.
Feels: It brings to mind nature, outdoor life, and a bold spirit
Now I don’t know about y’all but that seems like a great contrast and parallel to Briar if that is our FMC’s name.
Note:- We don’t have much on this so no theories for his arc.
THEORIES on the book:
me and smmr think that this book is either going to be fantasy or paranormal or both.
So JLB in one of her comments said that this book gives off TIG book 1 vibes. Now this can be interpreted in two ways:-
1- The aesthetics and the eerie feeling the house and the mystery had (Emily, Tobias, the tension…Who is dead, who is not)
2- Or Like Avery our FMC is thrown into a new world where she has to survive and learn truths that are life changing.
