I love you Lucifer Morningstar, the greatest (short) king in hell and such a good dad. I love you so much please have a good ending please please please
The fact that SV is basically a gender-flipped isekai’d villainess story…
And I usually hate those.
No one better defend Cheritz for all the really greedy features of Ssum. I had HOPED Cheritz were above this. That they were better than the crappy developers who integrate needless features that are surrounded by paywalls because they are afraid that their story isnt enough to hook in players nor or is it enough to convince players to spend a little more money on things like batteries. And batteries being IT.
Why are there numerous subscriptions for a bloody OTOME GAME!? Why is there a myriad of features that are pinned to the floor with ads and more opportunities to spend your money if you wanna make it easier? Why do I have to spend batteries TO STOP TEO BREATHING SO HE CAN REPLY.
Mystic Messenger never had this. Its characters and story were enough to justify spending on hourglasses so I could enter missed chatrooms or progress the story. Thats how invested I was. And while there are things I like about it, So far Ssum has done nothing to hook me in. The chatrooms are too short, I find Teo to be bland, and our chats are not interesting in the slightest.
A netflix subscription is CHEAPER than the ssum subscription
ik this is an aot blog but i have to rant somewhere.
idk if any of y’all have ever played mystic messenger, but cheritz created and new game and it’s horrible. the ssum is so fucking terrible and disappointing. i can’t believe this is from the same company that created such an amazing game
i wasn’t expecting it to be MM 2.0, but goddamn i at least expected it to be interesting. i’m on day four and i’m bored out of my fucking mind. the hospital story is SO boring and lame, and teo is so incredibly bland
and don’t even fucking get me started on all the subscriptions and micro transactions. i am just so disappointed in this
Working with What They’ve Got 🇨🇴
This but Bruno
Went to a local Japanese gardens museum and I finally found out what sandalwood incense smells like. Have a mental image to go with LWJ now 😌
Even the incense stick holder is Gusu-esque.
I also almost bought this cute lotus flower magnet, but I don’t have anywhere to stick it so I didn’t 😔
It’s crazy how much of a tone difference I see in the Twitter MDZS fandom and the tumblr MDZS fandom. On here, there is so much hate for JC. I wish I didn’t have to see it in the tags. Like, it’s not fun to go looking for fandom content only to see people dissing on a character you like in such a way. If any of those people see this, would you guys be okay with just not tagging the posts at all? Let each other have our opinions and preferences. Especially with this last episode to come out and the golden core reveal, I see posts “manifesting” a bad Yunmeng bros conclusion. Anyway…
Will say episode 33 is the weakest so far. I can sorta guess the reasons for why they moved Guanyin Temple to be before heading to Lotus Pier. First, in a visual medium, Guanyin Temple is very dialogue heavy and maybe wouldn’t make for the best or most exciting climax. But second, Wangxian does very little during the whole thing. We get the confession scene (👌) but after that they sit around while a lot of the interactions mainly go to JGY, LXC, and JC.
However, while it seems logical in theory, I’m not sure how well it’ll go in execution. I won’t speak on the LXC and JGY stuff, because I’ve never cared for or had any investment in their characters in the first place. The characters who matter to me in Guanyin Temple are Wangxian and JC. However, the two emotional cruxes that are key to those characters were both missing—the confession scene for Wangxian and the aftermath of the core reveal for JC. This made the whole Guanyin Temple scene incredibly lackluster without much stakes, and seemed to only serve the purpose of confronting JGY for everything he did. As if this is just a necessary pitstop to dump off some plot before moving on to the main thing.
Overall I feel like the donghua has been a solid adaptation of the novel so far, and although it’s made changes for the sake of pacing, they’ve all worked decently well. I… can’t say the same yet for this change.
Actually, what makes me concerned about this new order of events is whether there will be a reveal to WWX that JC knows. In the novel WWX is out of it when JC finds out, and only hears of it later at the temple when JGY uses the fact to edge JC on. If JC finds out with WWX unconscious and LWJ still takes him away, but with no temple afterwards, when will that happen? I like Yunmeng bros stuff so I’d be pretty upset if it ended up a one-way street.

This is me right now. Like, Bo seems so flustered interacting with Thumbless (episode 76). Not wanting him to see his face, stammering at some parts. He genuinely can’t tell apart his feelings of wanting to protect Thumbless and wanting to potentially 🍽 him. And I’m just watching and waiting to see which side wins out over the other. Obviously no matter what, any relationship between them would be unhealthy af. After all, Bo is still a psychopathic, cannibalistic murderer. But for Thumbless who literally can never catch a break, so long as Bo can keep him from harm until he’s out of this whole situation, I can’t hate on him. Currently Nathalie has been the more annoying one recently tbh.
You say this like I don't have a playlist called "bard songs and ship shantys"
Thinkin‘ of writing another Foxxian fic. I think that’s the AU that appeals to me the most 😂 the story idea feels like it'd be more long form though, so idk if it’d end up getting finished. I guess I’ll start drafting it and see.
Always feels like a punch to the gut when I see JC hate and remember that a lot of people don’t actually like him.
Feels relevant again after scrolling through the donghua tag for episode 7.
