old school hate mail
Imagine how pissed you have to be to engrave a rock
Ok but there was this guy called Ea-nasir who was a total crook and would actually cheat people ought of good copper and sell them shit instead. The amount of correspondences complaining to and about this guy are HILARIOUS.
Are you telling me we know about a specific guy who lived 5000 years ago, by name, because he was a huge asshole
More like 4000 years ago but yes. Ea-nasir and his dodgy business deals.
And we haven’t even touched on the true hilarity of the situation yet. Consider two additional facts:
He wasn’t just into copper trading. There are letters complaining about Ea-nasir’s business practices with respect to everything from kitchenwares to real estate speculation to second-hand clothing. The guy was everywhere.
The majority of the surviving correspondences regarding Ea-nasir were recovered from one particular room in a building that is believed to have been Ea-nasir’s own house.
Like, these are clay tablets. They’re bulky, fragile, and difficult to store. They typically weren’t kept long-term unless they contained financial records or other vital information (which is why we have huge reams of financial data about ancient Babylon in spite of how little we know about the actual culture: most of the surviving tablets are commercial inventories, bills of sale, etc.).
But this guy, this Ea-nasir, he kept all of his angry letters - hundreds of them - and meticulously filed and preserved them in a dedicated room in his house. What kind of guy does that?
[ source ]
Okay, but imagine from the other guy’s point of view. You send angry letters about how Ea-nasir shipped you half a ton of subpar copper, and then 3800 years later—
History: you are without a doubt the worst business man ive ever heard of
Ea-nasir:
Is…is that Ea-nasir FANFIC?!
I low key hate Tumblr/Internet Culture™️ romanticizing academia. We’re all just depressed and overworked.
Or is it just that academia has ruined study aesthetics for me? Not sure but I will be doing to a bookstore to grade today.

Hanging out with old people rules because after a while they trust you enough to confess to murder totally unprompted
Wait what.
Sometimes old ladies had to kick the ladder out from under their stepfathers when they were girls and that’s valid
oh, my little old lady murder story was her replacing the medication in her abusive husband's capsules with rat poison.
"back in the day, our grandmothers worked on their marriages and didn't get divorced!" nah, friend, they COULDN'T get a divorce so sometimes they killed their fuckin husbands. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My grandma murdered her first husband the first time he beat their daughter.
My college was next to an assisted living facility and one time we went over there to draw people’s portraits so we could get practice drawing older people. The lady I was drawing idly told me that she "dealt quite handily with her first husband” while making a stabbing gesture. Five minutes later she requested I make sure not to draw her double chin. I honored that request.
So when I was a child my grandmother told all these great stories about growing up in the Alaskan wilderness. Amazing bad ass stories about her and my great-grandmother. I recently asked my mom why my great-grandmother moved from Texas to Alaska in the first place. Turns out my Great-grandfather was abusive to my great grandmother for years and she lived with that until the first time he hit my grandmother, who was like three at the time, my great-grandmother got him very drunk and beat him to death then moved to Alaska to hide from the cops.
Listen, if an old lady admitted to killing her abusive father I’d be honored
it is so unspeakably relieving not believing in Armageddon anymore

I want to make my future wife a packed LUNCH
With post-it-notes
Not all lesbians are thin white girls who wear Calvin Klein underwear and go camping every weekend. Lesbians are brown girls in salwar kameezes and bindis and black girls with dreadlocks and afros and Muslim girls in hijabs and Jewish girls in tznius, lesbians are fat girls and 5X+ girls and girls with big bones and girls who are 6 feet tall, lesbians are poor girls on welfare and girls getting food stamps and homeless girls and girls working multiple minimum wage jobs, lesbians are girls with depression and anxiety and girls with personality disorders and psychosis and girls in the hospital and girls who are suicidal, lesbians are girls with disabilities and girls in wheelchairs and girls with chronic pain and girls who are blind and deaf and girls who are in recovery and girls who can’t recover, lesbians are girls who are 5 years old and girls who are 85 years old and girls who have known their whole life and girls who just found out, lesbians are girls from literally all walks of life and all cultures and all religions and our stories are so unique and so vast and to reduce us to only a small group of girls who most of us aren’t is disingenuous of who we all are as a whole.
The rich are getting more rich tho
when insulin was first created, the inventors sold the patent for one dollar, as they knew that it could save so many lives and just wanted companies to begin making it so it could be provived to those in need. now it’s so expensive that people are dying, simply because companies want more money. this is so wrong and needs to be changed.
We literally pay to live if you are a diabetic in this country.
The tone deafness is mind numbing
Okay, so is the point of these things to give cops an excuse to shoot unarmed black people for looking at their cell phones in public? Or is it to make mass shootings easier by slipping these guns past security in schools? This is cartoon villain levels of awful. Fuck the NRA.
Guys maybe youre also forgetting the possibility that this gives police a reason to murder ANYONE who could try to RECORD THEM IN THEIR CRIMINAL ACTS. In this day and age its vital to record the police, but with this being a thing they can reasonably say they were “afraid for their lives” that someone was gonna pull THIS on them and then shoot bystanders without question
This is heinous
Getting close to fifteen thousand notes and almost every single comment is outraged and disgusted, at least people can see the terrifying implications of this
Me @ the Jws after I realized I missed out on the fun things my friends got to do:

Not to be horny on main but i wanna c*ddle
unfriendly reminder: this is a sex worker positive space. I will not tolerate the disrespect of sex workers here, and if you cant agree with that without a doubt then you're not welcome here.
sure would be nice if people other than porn blogs and sex workers reblogged this
