Today’s batch of robots. The Varo prompt produced what is maybe my favorite robot so far, and i’m very impressed by the sense of scale in the image produced by the Friedrich prompt, which frames the giant robot in a very similar way to how the real Friedrich portrayed ruins and mountains.

Made some of my own. I really like the cave painting, the Rackham, and the Hiroshige. It’s interesting that the Doré isn’t black and white, but it did manage to create an appropriately apocalyptic atmosphere.

You're right, I think that this is a fantastic, minimally invasive way of "recreating" a structure so that it doesn't damage the site! Visitors can look through a see through window with an image etched onto it that will superimpose a recreation of what experts think the building may have originally looked like.

The Mithraeum in London uses light and shadow to "rebuild" the temple. It's so noninvasive to the actual ruins and yet still so visually stimulating. And they play audio of a Mithras cult re-enactment too.

I love this new age of sympathetic ruin management. It's so creative and great for the structures and really engages the visitor.

I am obsessed with this.

So because parkour is such a ridiculously male dominated sport, the "correct technique" for a lot of these movements that you're taught when you become an instructor plays to a male body's strengths: upper body strength, higher center of gravity, etc.

She demolishes this course by moving in ways that make sense for her body. She doesn't muscle her way up to her over a wall, she just throws a leg up over the wall. She doesn't use upper body strength to do the salmon ladder, she uses her hips!!! And it's fucking incredible.

So many girls and young women walk away from parkour because every movement caters to the strengths of men, because doing what makes sense for their bodies is seen as "bad technique" to be trained away.

If pre-transition me had seen this I would have cried tears of joy.
