Mieux Magazine Awards 2012 Recap

If you didn't get to make it out to the award show, or if you just want to see a recap of the action, Kyle O' Brien hooked you up with a dope clip. It was almost surreal to see how many people came together for our first event. All the stress was worth it and I can't wait until next years Mieux Magazine Awards! You can find pictures from the event here.

I would like to again thank everyone for coming out to the first ever MMA's and those that made it to the afterparty! Our award show hosts were Joerod from Surreal Styles & Jayy from Truly Phresh Clothing, B.Nyce of CLPNation.com,  WorldComeUp.com, and special guest hosts Crown Marquiss, Rodri Moreau, and my mom. Acoupstix "Addicted" Directed by Gee Tobares

Gee has come out of retirement with a new visual for Acoupstix of AOK. I really like the short independent film-esque of this music video. But damn, he snatched the hell out of that hat off her head. Word of advice girl, don't argue with Jordan. He may seem like a cuddly, semi-psychotic, big teddy bear, but when he's angry.. he looks dangerous. Nonetheless, congratulations again Acoupstix for taking home the award for "Best Stage Presence" at the Mieux Magazine Awards last Thursday!

The Mieux Magazine Award Show is this Thursday!!

This Thursday is the first annual Mieux Magazine Awards at the Orpheum in Ybor, Fl.

Each week, we gave you guys the chance to vote for your favorite nominee in various categories. At this event, the winners will be revealed! Special guest hosts will be announcing the lucky winners and presenting them with an award that represents their hard-work and dedication. 

Between award segments, we will have performances from top local acts in Florida. Ameen Spade of Local Muzik, Scott Aye & Hometown Hero of BluuZone, and Niko Is will be taking the stage at the Mieux Magazine Award show! Not only will you hear live music from some of the best indie artists, we will be giving away free stuff! 

Local clothing lines- Colori Alterati, mdcxcii, Pocket 7, and Dirty Man's Threads, will also be setting up booths selling merchandise ranging from shirts to hats and beanies perfect for our Florida hot/cold Winter.

Tickets are 5$ and can be bought at the door or online! Doors open at 7:30, Show starts at 8!

Throwback Thursday: Crown Marquiss "What Up"

I don't know why but to this day, this remains my favorite song ever by Crown Marquiss. The first time I heard it was actually the day I met him and Robert Gallardo. Live From The South Side came out at the beginning of this year, and "What Up" was the first song where I was introduced to his unique delivery and loved it from there on out. It's funny too because I feel like everyone can relate, unfortunately..
