“i touched down like 10 minutes ago...i didn’t call you because i didn’t want to...it’s fine they can do la cenerentola without me, there’s been a line around the block as soon as i announced my hiatus...yes...it’s only for a couple of months okay, just find some understudy.” frustrated, minhee dropped her phone into her purse unceremoniously. coming home used to be fun, now it seemed bittersweet, last time she’d come it had been for a funeral. as she picked up her coffee cup she saw an unfamiliar name, while hers faded out of view in the hands of someone else. she raced towards them, awkwardly tugging her suitcase behind her. “excuse me, we switched orders.”
“ DON’T JUST STAND THERE ! ” jaejin huffs from the ever-changing colored base of the arcade dance game to the figure behind. his friend had gone off to get more coins for the machines and never came back –– he presumes a lady got in the way. “ there’s two more rounds and i’m a sore loser ! ”
minhee’s expression is nothing short of sharply judgmental. if he can yell over mozart’s twenty-fifth symphony, she decides, he’s being too loud. silently, she raises one eyebrow and removes her headphones. “i don’t suppose if you’ve lost him to a girl that yelling louder will do anything. he’s probably already heard you at this point.”

> then when she was 15 she entered a talent search contest for the seoul institute of the arts, offering a full ride scholarship.

> so the institute took her in and gave her formal training and seven months later she had her break out role when she was cast in the phantom of the opera as christine daae. and from there offers just started coming.
> she got more into opera instead of theater and by 16 she was a regular supporting cast member, then they started giving her lead roles and this is where her ego gets big
> she lived in seoul on her own as her mom had to take care of her music school but minhee sent a bunch of money home
> she’s cliche time, an ice princess, incredibly reserved and poised. growing up in the spotlight made her care very much about her image
> so everything was fine and dandy minhee was having a great time being an opera singer until two months ago when her mother unexpectedly passed away after learning she was had stage 4 lung cancer.
> since then minhee hasn’t been able to sing, she’s taken a hiatus from her job at the theater and come back to jeju to take care of her mother’s things and wrap up all the loose ends, she plans on going back to seoul to continue pursuing her career in the opera

> so plot ideas, i’d love some childhood best friends who she’s still close with. close to her age maybe one or two years older. someone who was going to confess to her but then she left for seoul. students of her mom’s. a colleague she’s worked with in the past, preferably in the entertainment industry. maybe a fan someone who's just like "holy shit woo minhee" bc she's fairly famous due to the whole prodigy thing.
