It's a common thing to say during a fight and 99% of the time the one saying it doesn't really mean it, but it would hit Mike right in the center (plus he would kind of deserve it TBH).

I think Mike was hoping in the van. Hoping that Will was talking about them, but Mike has repressed himself so much that I doubt he even thinks Will could like him like that (oblivious much?). It's so obvious Mike is in love with Will! Just look at the way he gazes lovingly at Will. Like, I've said it before and I'll say it a hundred more times: THAT is love. That gaze from Mike.

I also just want to point out the parts I highlighted, because they imply that byler, and Will's feelings for Mike, are going to be a major part of Will's character arc in S5. This means that they have to be resolved in some way, and there's no way Mike would reject him now. The only question is, how is Mike going to really find out? I doubt Will is going to try telling Mike about his feelings again, especially after hearing the stupid monologue. It will be very interesting to see. But, I am like beyond confident in endgame byler atp.

This season we saw Will quietly pining and Mike being a walking tornado. Will was a steady calm for Mike all season.

Next season, I want to see Mike pine. Give me jealous Mike. Mike isn’t as reserved as Will, so I imagine it being intense and attitude-riddled. I want to see Mike grovel, for real. Will deserves to be worshiped after all the shit he’s been through.

Honestly, even if Byler stays platonic (doubtful but I’ll entertain the idea), this relationship was repaired a lot this season and is about to ramp the fuck up. Mike has some making up to do and I hope they don’t gloss over everything they set up in s4 (aka internalized homophobia ruining Mike’s relationships).
