Family Whether You Like It Or Not! - Platonic I.M.P. x Reader Headcanons

Could you do platonic headcanons for a gn/male reader who's incredibly guarded getting unwillingly wrapped up in I.M.P.s little found family dynamic? I was thinking reader would be very stoic and introverted with the others, brushing off any attempt at socializing. They're not necessarily rude, but they seem borderline emotionless and try to keep the others as far away as possible yet somehow still get incorporated into their little found family lmao. They're all business, but I can't imagine it'd stop Blitzo. I just think another severely traumatized individual getting roped into the found family dynamic whether they like it or not is fun. I'd also like the readers species left open ended, though it was probably gonna be that way anyway lol. Thanks for your time! - anon

Warnings: Cursing A/N: I was SO EXCITED to do this request!! I love this idea so so so so so much and I hope it lives up to your expectations!

☆ When you took the job at I.M.P. there were many things you didn't expect. You thought it'd be a simple thing like getting assigned targets and receiving a paycheck every so often. But no, there was a lot more to it than that. These people were..overwhelming.

★ Blitz, your boss, was the most overwhelming of them all. You tried and tried to have time to yourself but instead he wiggled his way into your personal life as well as your work life. Going shopping? He was coming with. Seeing a movie? Going to dinner? Blitz just so happened to be at the same place at the exact time with a stupid smile on his face that screamed "I totally planned this."

☆ Millie was loud and overly enthusiastic. Although you admired her skills, she was a lot. She'd immediately spark up conversations with you as soon as you walked into the office, try to get really close with you and she was convinced you were best friends.

★ Moxxie seemed to make everything over-complicated and was very precise about everything. It kinda drove you insane. He was always trying to come up with some strategy which contradicted with Blitz's chaotic and random style and often caused them to fight.

☆ Loona mostly kept to herself but she could be quite the bitch. She had a bad attitude with clients and was constantly yelling at Blitz who just babied her even though she's a grown adult.

★ Although you found their attempts at trying to intrude your personal life and push your boundaries beyond annoying, you couldn't help but feel your heart warm when they did. Moxxie and Millie were really just sweethearts who cared deeply for you, Blitz considered you a member of the family as soon as you stepped through the door and Loona thought you were cool.

☆ It was a regular occurrence to be dragged along with them on little trips and adventures, too. If it was something you really didn't wanna do, Blitz would always say, "I'll pay ya overtime if ya come!" You were forced to go anyway and you were not paid.

★ You slowly found yourself being more willing to go on these little side quests with your fellow employees (And not just to get Blitz to stop breaking into your house because he still does it anyway) and actually... enjoying it. You found yourself joining Loona at parties, going shopping with Millie, planning with Moxxie and doing some jobs with just you and Blitz.

☆ These people didn't judge you. They didn't ridicule you. They didn't care who you were in the past, they just saw the new guy and gave them their rightful place in the family. Although you may never know the peace of silence and alone time, you wont mind working overtime anymore.

You were the first person to see her, or, well... Acknowledge her. Every once in a while, Dolly had seen her coworkers' cartoonish eyes meet her kawaii peepers for a single moment before quickly redirecting them to the floor. Had propped herself up against the fridge while spouting off memes in the hopes that someone would get hungry eventually and would have to talk to her or even pick her up and throw her into the dumpster outside the building already. Anything. But with you? When you smiled, or even laughed, she knew it was because of her. And after a while, she didn't even have to check behind herself to make sure that you weren't just talking to someone else while staring through her. "Sorry! Just gotta... Make sure it's not a 'he's right behind me, isn't he' situation. I guess I'm just raising the awkwardness levels over 9000 again..." Dolly is quick to get Dimpley again when you kiss her hand. And red. Is her nose bleeding?! At the very least, she can't say that you were aiming for someone else with that.

Dolly doesn't stick around the Smiling Friends as much as she used to. She still tries her best to get a smile out of people who act like she's invisible, even with her terminal unfunniness, because she's learned that making other people happy really is important to her, deep in her gaudy, rainbow-colored heart. But she doesn't need to subject herself to all that other stuff; she has you! You can expect her to skip and (attempt to) cartwheel to wherever you are during her break. When you ask her why she's cartwheeling, she says, "Uh... BOI. It's like walking, but I guess you could say it's, like, 20% cooler!" She takes a seat next to you, enthusiastically swiveling towards you and childishly bringing her knees up to her chest. "Besides, I heard on Reddit that spinning is awesomesauce for your figure! And thicc thighs save lives, y'know! So yeah. Imma keep doing the cartwheel."

Dolly definitely shows you stuff on her phone. Whether you're eating together at a restaurant, spending time together outside or watching TV together, Dolly is pulling up crusty memes from iFunny and shoving it at you, scanning your face for a reaction. The longer you go without laughing, the more worried she starts to look, so it's best to pretend that whatever she's showing you is incredible. Wow, you say, the idea that Mario is doing drugs because he eats mushrooms is a joke you've never heard before. But your laughter, even if it's forced, makes her melt all the same. It's enough to make her kick her feet! If there's one thing you need to remember when dating Dolly, it's that how you react to her antics will deeply affect her mood, even if she's still wearing that simple smile of hers. So keep it positive! She needs her happiness tank filled up if she's gonna be out making people smile all day! And remember: If you cry, she will cry. "Really? You like it?! Okay, this is epic! This meme is bae-approved! That means it's going in the 'hall of fame' folder, ehehe~!"

Another thing that boosts her mood? Cuddling, and a lot of it. As friends, you clocked it pretty easily--noticed that this might be the case right away. She never really touched you when you were first getting to know her outside of a high-five here and there. But when skin hit skin, she beamed. It was hard for you not to follow suit. You noted the unusual smoothness of her palm as the sting subsided (she was way too enthusiastic). Now that you two are together, though, all bets are off. She's always around you or leaning on you in some way. If she's whining about having to deal with a "cringe day", expect her to crumple and pathetically fold over your shoulders. If she feels like it's "boss! bitch! energy! time!", she'll slink an arm around your waist and pull you in close. She is just always so, so close and soft and sweet to you and smelling so nice, and, like... Why does she have to make everything so awkward for you?

Dolly showers you in constant praise. It's embarrassing. It's... motivating? It's a lot of things, like her. "You look so good! Kawaii!" "This food is so yummy!! This pleases the Dimpley!! But one question: Where's the lamb sauce?!?! Heehee!" She does her best to make sure that you know she thinks you're cool. When you go out together or even show up at the Smiling Friends building, Dolly is quick to brag that she "bagged" you and that she "hit that" to an audience of eyes trained to avoid her. You couldn't even blame them right now. But you weren't among them. If anything, you're not sure you could turn your eyes away from her even if you had to. When you're together, though, people try to talk to you as if Dolly isn't right beside you. Stand up for her and insist that the others address her for instant swooning.

Even if you're apart for a time, like when she goes on jobs with the Smiling Friends, she finds time to text you fairly often. Her texts are horribly misspelled and riddled with emoticons. The meme-sharing habit applies here. If you don't respond, she will start sending increasingly silly selfies. Dolly has an amazing command over what kind of faces she can do, and not all are kawaii. Some are derpy, some are... Scary. So, respond soon if you don't want to get jumpscared when you open your messages, a punishment for ignoring your "waifu for laifu"! You just really wish she'd stop calling herself that. It's bad.

I’ve been pinching every penny lately since my hours got cut, so I haven’t really been able to buy myself much… but I have to give myself little treats every now and then or I will literally combust. And these two?? THESE TWO??? They make my whole week worth it.

Ughhh just LOOK at them. I love them so much it’s embarrassing. They spark so much joy in my rotten little heart. And honestly… Dion was one of the first OCs I ever genuinely fell hard for. Shipping with him has brought me so much comfort and softness and warmth. I’m really grateful that with my OCs, I don’t have to panic about doubles or drama or any of that I can just make Dion exactly how I want him, love him how I need to, and let him be mine in the way that feels right.
