other elf headcanons:

their ears convey emotion and are flexible so they can swivel/move to a certain degree

they have keener hearing as a result

you can tell an elf’s origin or family by the shape of their ears

their ears are very important to them, and to touch another elf’s ears without permission is rude and invasive

humans cutting off an elf’s ears and letting them go is one of the worst things they can do

clans hunt at night when they can better utilise their night vision and hearing

elven hunters using clicks and sounds to both give their fellow hunters directions and navigate the forest

blind elves using a similar system of echo-location to get around
