More TMA WIPs, this time with more jonmartin
When it was first announced that they would be making another batman movie I thought: "great, another lukewarm take on an already overrated character" but now that Rpat has declared that HIS Batman is a little freak who is actively making Gotham worse I am suddenly incredibly interested because yes, someone finally gets it.
jonâs little âyou donât sound?? russian??â when he first meets nikola is so funny to me in retrospect bc itâs just. the wildest thing to nitpick in that moment. heâs got the worldâs scariest clown mannequin ominously standing in the corner in complete darkness, telling him it killed at least one notable man, and his next thought is âwhy does she have an english accent thoâ like ??? even funnier when you consider his question after that was âare you going to kill meâ implying that the accent was more pressing to him than his safety,,, buddy you are so stupid sometimes
schlop schlop schlop (sounds of me shovelling water into my thorsty mouth at 3am)Â
based off the uhhhhhhhhhhhh Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel
ok so howâre yâall gonna headcanon Annabelle Cane, avatar of the web, without spider web braids?

jonathan sims was really the character of all time. he was kidnapped three times. his only friend was his ex-girlfriend. he pretended to be a skeptic while also working as a ghost secretary. he said âgood lordâ unironically. he was a stalker. he called a merry-go-round âthrilling.â he hung out and listened to soap operas with a woman who kidnapped him and tried to slit his throat. he said mercy-killing another guy that kidnapped him was âlike doing a favor for an old friend.â he could almost definitely suck his own dick. he was forcibly moisturized by a clown for a month. he lied about being ten years older than he was for no discernible reason. he wasnât even mad about the third kidnapping. he thought his coworker was a ghost. he died once. he tried to cut off his own finger. he was even bi
I wish I could be like one of those Tumblr people who make well-written and informed analyses on their interests and hyperfixations but no I got stuck with the GGAGRRHHD AARRAARFGHFGG. HHGGGGRGGGGRGRRRGGHH MMBBRBBRBJGJGJ KKAAAAAAAAAAA HHHHH AAA !!?,,!??,!
Because I'm on a non-creative streak, here's older art but as stain glass because stain glass is pretty
(Zoom in under cut and side by side comparison to the original last supper is in the link of the old art)
what always gets me about s1 jonâs skepticism (as a certified jon sims stan) is that
1) he was right. he was literally right. his assessment of the situation, despite being limited and vague due to only having access to limited and vague information, was factually correct in the major points. i will never ever get over that. he literally said in #039: although most of the statements we get arenât real, iâm certain that the ones i have to record on a tape recorder are. and when i record these statements, i sense that a force outside of myself takes control of me. something that is always watching us here in the institute, and that wants us to be afraid. and like??? that IS whatâs happening! thatâs exactly whatâs happening! thatâs a surprisingly accurate description of how the beholding is using jon and the archives. and although feigning skepticism might not have been a successful strategy, i actually think that it was the most logical strategy to try. like ok, you donât know exactly whatâs going on here but you can tell that something Bad is observing your fear and taking satisfaction from it? simply refuse to be afraid. donât take the bait that this entity gives you. do everything you can not to get sucked in so you donât give it what it wants. i mean, thatâs what joshua gillespie (coffin guy) did, and weâre always talking about how he was basically the only statement giver with brain cells. anyway, s1!jon made the right call on this one, and if there was a way out i think he would have found it. its just that there was never going to be a way out, because thatâs how it goes in the world of tma. but jon was still doing the right thing, you know?
2) he didnât let his fake skepticism get in the way of helping people. thatâs why relistening to s1 after getting to the season finale and learning that jon was lying is so much fun for me; itâs fascinating to listen to early statements and realize how many of his supplementals are just âobviously this ludicrous story isnât worth taking seriously or following up on at allâ [spends another several minutes describing how he had the archives gang follow up on every possible lead, no matter how small, even if it required stealing police files or combing through years of accident reports] [provides details that show exactly what he thinks happened without admitting on the record that anything supernatural happened at all, wink wink] âanyway, that was a waste of time and no reasonable person would give a shit about this. fuck youâ like??? jonathan sims my beloved.
anyway i also love memeing on how absurd jonâs skepticism was at face value but like,,,,,, appreciation post for how great it is to hear the early episodes again once you know what heâs doing and why.
