This place where you've mysteriously arrived to is a haphazard collection of my experiments. ヽ(〃･ω･)ﾉ In addition to obsessively collecting stamps and singing out of tune, I also enjoy bouts of gaming on Switch and over Steam.

I love Devilings because they are so cheeky and mysterious and really quite monstrous, which is why I chose it as my “monster” of the day. You’ll never quite know where those eyes are looking..! The wings turned out thinner than I had intended and I would definitely adjust a few more things if I ever retypoed this sculpt but overall I’m quite happy with how it turned out. It could be a joy or a nightmare to airbrush, maybe I will find out one day..! For now I just need to carve more time from my schedule for similar practice sessions. ^^

I definitely didn’t get as far as I had wanted in this year’s Sculpt January (and I’m afraid at my current phase it’d quickly become Sculpt December) but I’d still like to share a couple more things that I did manage to finish. The theme for this one was “adventure” and I had wanted to keep it extra simple. A jellopy didn’t quite “cut it” but I felt that a good old slotless Cutter would be a good candidate. I also got to play a little with the light settings and experiment with more texturing, which was good fun.

When I think of a “mask“ in RO, this is the first one that comes to mind. Funnily enough, I don’t recall ever owning one on any of my characters even though I’m a pretty avid (and very poor) hat collector -- it sounds like it’s time to expand my wish list!

This was also the first 3D thing I ever textured (I’m doing some of these sculpts out of order) and it’s so exciting! Infinitely more exciting than using MatCaps alone (though MatCaps rock, just saying).

And this concludes the last sculpt of sculptjanuary. I do admit that it was supposed to be a portrait.. but since the deadline has passed and I still wanted to finish off what I had started, I decided on whatever I was in the mood for. Sadly, Blender crashed so many times because of my horrendous geometry that I will leave this butterfly at that. I learned great many things during this month and hope to continue to improve. Maybe soon enough I’ll be able to make the things I really want to make. :)

At first I wanted to do a a pomeranian but ended up with a little fox. They are very needy creatures and in addition to hot chocolate, require scarves to keep themselves warm in the winter.
