Okay, so, I have been rewatching Yugioh 5D's, specifically the first season because I have been hyperfixated on Carly x Jack, and something popped out to me. But let me put my theory forth first and mention that I don't know a whole lot about the Japanese dub, I watch in English for attention span reasons. So this could just be some sort of English translation issue. But my theory...
Goodwin likely had something to do with Carly's death.
Let me explain under the cut and I apologize if it's a bit jumbled.
Okay so to start, in the episode where Carly first goes to the Arcadia Movement (Episode 37), she shows up dressed as a cleaner and starts heading towards Sayer/Divine's office. Only, she runs into him and Akiza as they come out. He seems to buy her excuse of being the fill-in for the fill-in's and leaves with Akiza. But when they get to the elevator, she's the only one who gets in while Sayer says he has to deal with a rodent problem (Carly). And then he catches her going through very secret documents, duels, and kills Carly.
Now, what does this have to do with Goodwin?
Well, later, when everyone's together and Goodwin is explaining about the Dark Signers, Goodwin specifically mentions Carly in regards to the Dark Signers themselves and not her being one of the sacrifices. Jack doesn't even know at this point that she's become one of them. So the fact that Goodwin does raised red flags for me.
I then remember that, during the press conference after Jack's defeat and Carly first asks about the glowing marks, while walking away, he gives Carly a really dirty look. And then things started to come together.
Now, during that episode where Sayer kills Carly, I always felt a bit weird by it. And, again, this could be a translation issue, but I never really understood why Sayer just... let Carly wander the building if he knew that she was lying about being a cleaner. Sure, he was with Akiza, but wouldn't it make more sense to call Carly out and then show her around to make sure she didn't stick her nose in anything that he didn't want getting out? Hell, you could argue it would also even deepen his hold on Akiza, showing that he was a good person even to people who were trying to dig up dirt on them. So... why let her run around?
Then I wondered if Goodwin was in contact with Sayer somehow, whether anonymous or not. Because it's very obvious how deep Sayer has it in with Sector Security with the amount of stuff he was able to cover up and the fact that he had dirt on Goodwin that he would have done everything he could to cover up.
But, if he wants to remake the world by having both kinds of tattoos, he would need things to go smooth and he still has the problem of a reporter catching wind who was also particularly close to the Signer he'd been manipulating. So, him being a control freak, he would keep tabs on Carly to find a good way to get rid of that loose end. And then, she ends up walking right into the Lion's Den- The Arcadia Movement.
I would also like to quickly point out how much of a control freak Goodwin seems to be. He has an obsession with rewriting the world as he sees fit, he manipulated everyone and anyone he could to get the outcome he wanted. The dude literally manipulated things so that the Satelite would becomes what is basically a breeding ground for the Dark Signers/Negative energy. You can even argue that him throwing the cards to the winds was also him doing so because he had no clue who the Signers could be. With him throwing them (literally) to the winds allowed him to be able to figure it out. So Goodwin likely would have kept tabs on his brother, those he was associating with, and the people he knew were Signers. So he likely knew that Jack was crashing at Carly's and how close the two had gotten.
So he takes the chance and shoots Sayer a quick message, his problem is taken care of, right?
No. Because 2 Dark Signs appeared that night. Goodwin would probably realize quickly that Carly had become a new Dark Signer based on the fact he tried to have Carly killed.
Is there issues with this? Probably. I will admit that there is a lot of assumptions in this. But I still think it's a valid theory. Plus, I wouldn't put it pass Goodwin to also want to make Carly a Dark Signer because of her relationship with Jack and knowing he would either lose to her or would take them both out at the same time.

Here’s some advice: When talking about “MAPs”, refer to them as they are. Pedophiles (unless of course you are informing people of what they use to make their disease, for lack of a better term, seem less problematic). But yeah, instantly block and report anyone with this flag anywhere in their blog or other social media profile.
Maps are attempting to use similar colors of Aro/Ace flags in order to trick others into supporting them. This could also lead to more discrimination of aro/ace groups.
In order to not be tricked, you should always check for desaturation when you see an asexual, aromantic, or aroace flag.
Examples for these:
(Desclaimer, while they have copied polysexual and pan, both are so different it's impossible not to see a difference. The aro/ace flags are near the same.)

I am in direct contact with the people behind the Ban Conversion 'Therapy' campaign in EU and we would really like to reach the threshold in a couple central/eastern European countries (e.g. Poland 🇵🇱, Czechia 🇨🇿, Hungary 🇭🇺, Romania 🇷🇴, Bulgaria 🇧🇬, Slovakia 🇸🇰) but due to the language barrier it is a bit harder. These countries can sometimes be more conservative so them reaching the signature threshold carries a lot weight!
We don’t know how (where) to reach these countries effectively! ~12 years ago I was on https://www.interpals.net where you can chat with people from all over the world, it still looks to be active so we can campaign there BUT, we would love to receive more ideas how to reach people from the above countries.
Don’t forget to share the campaign (actively messaging/asking friends is by far the most effective method!!)
So, I've made a decision about the original writing and art with the recent AI scrape of AO3.
For my original writing, I will unfortunately be locking them so only registered users can read them. I am only doing this for my original writing, my fanfiction writing will remain completely open. I do not care much if AI gets my fanfiction writing but I do care very much if it gets my original writing.
For my art, I'll be making sure to put it through an Anti-AI filter before uploading it anywhere.
Fuck AI and the people who steal others hard work to feed it.
I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

My cat, Munchkin, has the extact same thing, she's super round in her belly area. And she's perfectly healthy as far as we can tell. She's not overweight, no medical issues- Yeah, Munchkin gets out of breath pretty easily when we use the laser pointer, but we've also seen her MOVE A CINDER BLOCK on her own.
And at first, I did wonder if she was just overweight and went to a vet but he said she was perfectly fine. And I moved on. So the fact that people are getting so up in arms about a fiction character's belly is just...... weird.
It's trust issues with my story after all of the shit I pulled. There must be a sinister reason for it obviously. Wait until you hear the REAL reason why Jeuri's hair is so pointy....You'll never believe it.
