i have never seen Hannibal more awkward and fumbling than in ‘Sorbet’ when Will doesn’t call him or turn up to his appointment and he just sits at his desk and grasps at and fiddles with his phone like touching it and checking it (even tho it’s a goddamn home phone) will make it suddenly ring and then he gets out his goddamn appointment book to just look at Will’s name and appointment time and then GENTLY and NEATLY places it back 

like it’s totally what people do when they’re helllla upset/anxious/nervous about someone they really really like not contacting them back IMMEDIATELY because ‘what if he forgot about me doesn’t he care about me oh my god how could he forget me i can’t forget him noooo why hasn’t he called maybe there’s something wrong with this phone connection, did i get the appointment time wrong??? oh no look i wrote it right here it says 7:30, but does he KNOW that it’s meant to be 7:30??? i better go check on him at work just in case yep yep that’s it  i better go to HIM.’
