a quiet weight. quite a wait.

days when everything feels a little heavier than it should. waiting for something to sparkle, to catch my eye just to be distracted, to feel something, anything. but i continue to wait for something that doesn't ever seem to amount to anything. my eyes continue to drone on, the way kitchen exhausts do in an alleyway, the sound people make when they're holding back from telling you something. some might think i'm about to fall asleep but really i just don't want to think anymore. if only closing my eyes would solve my impatience.
