so the house of representatives just passed a bill that will now move to the senate to BAN tik tok completely in the united states and they are expected to argue that “national security risks” outweigh the freedom of speech and first amendment rights. biden has already said that if it gets to him, he will sign it. whether or not you use the app…….this is something to be worried about

before u have the kneejerk reaction of “good I hate tt anyways” or “maybe ppl will go outside” that’s not what this is about! the government wants to remove an entire app with over 170 million american users (who in large have used it as a platform to build community, consume and spread world news, advocate, organize), and try to force people back to us based apps like meta and google. please think about the implications. please think about what else they could potentially do if they get away with this. this could very well set a precedent for free speech & constitutional rights as well know it, and it is imperative we are on the right side of it

By the way, the actual language of the bill would allow them to ban any website or internet hosted app from a "foreign adversary", as described in the vaguest possible terms. This isn't about tiktok and will not stop at tiktok.

How come when it comes to fanfiction I can read all day and night but when it comes to books I can’t get even a page in? Like, it seems so boring. The only series I actually got into was the Maximum Ride series but that was it. I could never get invested in a book when I was in school and we had a library day. Like I always returned a book unfinished or not even started. And heaven forbid we had a book to read as a class and had to read up to certain chapters. I always fell behind. Like, what’s up with that? Shouldn’t I be just as invested in books then I am with fanfiction? It’s weird.

So I struggle a lot with writing poetry. In school whenever we had a poetry activity I struggled and I could never think of anything meanwhile my classmates are just writing something no hesitation. I really don’t get how people do it but good for them. So anyways, I had a project to write a poem and I’ve left it and it’s late but since I’m doing online I don’t have to worry about turning things in on time even if it was due in September. So anyway...Unus Annus happened. The final live I mean. And thats when I realized... I can write a poem about Unus Annus, the goodbye. And literally I’ve never been so grateful. I understand that poetry is about emotion and ideas but I just never had anything to really put feeling in. Unus Annus has made me laugh and the final moments made me sad but accepting of the end and it was just so perfect to write about it. I’m so happy I was able to be apart of this crazy and funny channel. It was truly an amazing year. Memento Mori

Unus Annus was the best thing to happen for this year. It made things easier and something to forget about the bad that’s happening. What they say is true. It takes a while to make a habit and it takes a long time to break it and since Unus Annus has started I’ve been using it to help me through school work and to just listen to in the background. It made me laugh and it made me sad (in a good way) but I literally don’t think this could have been done in a different year. When I think about Unus Annus I just think about this year and how it just..fits.. with all the crazy things that’s happened. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye, but all goodbyes are hard. We will have the memories, they will never leave us. This is something that we knew would happen and in this final hour it is truly the final goodbye for everyone in this community

I find it weird/funny/sad that people who r fans of Markiplier but for some reason never watched Unus Annus will never know what happed to the Barrel. Like one day they would ask ‘what happened to the barrel’ and Mark would go ‘it was destroyed by an unknown entity’ and that’s it, nothing else, however...We know what happened.
