Whenever I hear someone say something like “men used to go to war”, two things cross my mind. One: what fantasy world are you living in where men do not go to war? Men very much still do go to war, granted not all men, but it was never the case that all men went to war anyway. Two: if men no longer went to war, that would be amazing! I can’t believe there are people who need to be told this, but war is not good. It’s not something men need to toughen them up, it’s brutal horrific violence and those who it doesn’t kill, it breaks

With the upcoming Magic the Gathering movie, there have been a lot of jokes of it just being the Minecraft movie but Magic. People have not stopped and considered the worse option: it could be Once Upon a Time but with MtG.

When I was in high school, I was at a summer sports camp which had many different age groups present. One day everyone from all age groups were involved in a big game of soccer using this inflatable rubber ball instead of a normal soccer ball. Like the other older kids, I wasn’t trying too hard, leaving the game to the younger kids. But at one point, the ball was sent in my direction, so I just stuck out my foot to block it. Since it was moving quite fast and made of rubber, it bounced off with some force… directly into the face of an eight-year-old. Mortified, I rushed to him, torn between asking “are you okay” and saying “I’m so sorry”. But instead to all bystanders it appeared I kicked a ball into a child’s face before running up to him and shouting “Are you sorry?”

So I finally stood up for myself and told the barber I did not in fact like the haircut.

So having seen all the memes people have made about a Warhammer 40k X Helldivers crossover, I’d like to weigh in. I think the Space Marines would probably like the Helldivers as their ruthless and total devotion to duty and expendable nature would probably remind them of the Kreigsmen. But I think the Helldivers would hate the Space Marines because their devotion to an authoritarian God-Emperor makes them un-democratic.

The thing which baffles me most about vtubers is that when they choose to shed this human form, they choose to become a mere facsimile of a human. Why not choose the form of something powerful like a T-Rex or Cthulhu or the immortal and perfect machine?

Working on a Scarlet Spider costume for Denver Comicon and I have a question for Spider-Man cosplayers: how do you keep your ears from showing in the mask? Like is there something I can wear underneath to keep a smooth round shape to my head?

Do you ever think about how in modern fiction, space has taken the place of the sea? Like the sea was this vast expanse of the unknown, where adventure was always just around the corner, where you never knew just what there was out there. Nowadays the seas are too well-mapped, the world too interconnected for that, so we look elsewhere. We see in the stars what our ancestors saw in the ocean. We look to the skies, to the emptiness of space and we fantasize about what lies out among the stars, the adventures we could have if only we could get out there.

Okay so I know literally nothing about the wizarding world of Harry Potter, but I started Hogwarts Legacy and when the game started with news of a goblin rebellion, I was just like “good for them, fight oppression my goblin friends”. So is it a thing in the books/movies that goblins are oppressed?

Spotify is so weird about what ads it gives me. Like one time I got an ad for condoms and I just thought “Spotify, buddy, I am listening to a playlist of metal renditions of songs from Mega Man X, why would you ever think I need these?”
