Nine Inch Nails gets me closer to god & Ghost gets me closer to satan. Bucky Barnes and Matt Murdock are my favorite comicbook characters. Oh, and I love cats. Enjoy!

it's been a million years (eleven months) since I posted anything here - I'm alive and well but have been working on other projects, including a graphic novel that I think will appeal to enjoyers of Watson's Sketchbook (more information on that...later). To tide you over, here's a little pre-Reichenbach snippet, made on the theme of 'Home' for the Very Sincerely Yours zine @very-sincerely-yours-zine - thank you for asking me to participate! Matt's heightened senses allow him to be Daredevil, and to do a number of other things that you would not expect of someone who is totally blind, but they don't – and here's the kicker – actually make him sighted. Part of the irony of Matt's peculiar condition is that if his senses actually did compensate for his blindness in any and all situations, he wouldn't have to "pretend to be blind" in the first place. The reason I'm saying that "my other senses more than compensate" is a logical fallacy is that it is true in some situations, not quite true in others, and not even a little bit true in others still. - The 50+ ways in which Marvel’s Daredevil reminds you that Matt is blind (for real)

While it’s certainly possible to deliver good senses writing while sidestepping much of the blindness angle - just as it’s possible to combine lackluster senses writing with an ambitious approach to presenting the character as still being blind - I’ve found that the two tend to go together. If you’re going to really get inside Daredevil’s head from the standpoint of what he is able to perceive of his surroundings, it helps to have a good grasp of what information he would be missing and what information from his other, heightened senses might conceivably help close the gap. -The 40+ ways Daredevil: Born Again reminds you that Matt is blind (for real)

The Lion's Mane

A bittersweet tale of retirement, this odd crime-less story from Holmes’ pen is a rare insight into the mind of the ageing, lonely ex-detective. There is much that we learn about his life after leaving the bustle of London: the quiet nature around him, his simple routine, his new friendships, his interest in photography, and his estrangement with Watson. What June Thomson in her fascinating Holmes and Watson calls “a slow drifting apart, brought about by the physical distance between them, rather than through any specific alienation” is not a pleasant thing to muse on, but it is clear, at least from what the two men share with their readers, that Holmes retires alone while his friend stays in London with his new wife and flourishing practice. Though they still correspond and enjoy “an occasional week-end visit”, this unexplained estrangement makes the lack of a Watsonian touch much more jarring than in Holmes' previous recollection, as his absence echoes throughout the narrative.

in the wake of ai slop taking over the web and pillars of internet history disappearing without rhyme or reason, please take a minute to archive what you love locally (a reliable hard drive) as well as onto the Internet Archive (Wayback Machine). we're actively losing human-made forums, posts, art, and much more to make room for fucking ai.

so download the movie, the video, the game, the fanfic, the tumblr post, the news article, etc... with the unstoppable rise of corporate greed, the only thing you can trust is yourself.

and if you can afford to, you should donate to the Internet Archive to help them carry on their vital work.

They're an entirely free-to-use, wonderful resource that we cannot lose.
