#773 skull mountain
Was supposed to be kinda like a four leaf clover, since i made this on St. Paddy's day
A few painstaking hours, but im rather pleased with the final product. A gift for my cousin, Lilliane. Haven't figured out how to give it to her yet but eh in due time.
A few months back i promised my maternal grandmother that i'd do a nice piece featuring a great blue heron. For the colors of the heron (not the background or the lineart) i used the acrylic brushes in procreate because back when she painted that was her favourite medium.
As per Jon (@thecomiccreator ) ‘s request, three glass-rank Solos!
@nmzuka requested a werewoof
instead, here are five, based on various dog breeds.
Corgi, Husky, Afghan Hound, Shar-Pei, and those really shaggy sheepdogs.
This is literally the third time i have drawn this guy. and the only time it wasnt a direct gift for @nmzuka
Here we have a werewolf doing his morning yoga.
any guesses as to his favourite position? (in yoga. get your mind out of the gutter, dammit)
Contrary to what Disney’s Brave may have taught you, Wisps do not lead people to their destinies or whatever.
Nah these little spirits like to fuck people over and lead them on the wrong path.
Don’t go chasing orbs kids. Didn’t end well for Pacman, won’t end well for you.
Wendigo, Wendigoing, Wendigone.
The (ab)original zombie, Wendigos are husks of human beings who have succumbed to hunger and gluttony. Also, cannibalism. (and they didn’t always have horns. thats more of a recent pop-culture thing)
What’s this? A female warrior in actual functioning armor?
It can’t be! There’s no boob plate or cleavage window!
Valkyries are beings of Norse mythology who decide who comes out victorious in battle, (meaning they might protect someone, or cut someone else down) and also brings the dead to Valhalla.
They didnt actually have wings, they rode winged horses, but im not good at horses....
Awwwwwwww look, the sea serpent’s giving the boat a hug!
oh wait no its squeezing it to death (so to speak). Silly me! such an easy mistake to make though.
Rusalkas, beings of Slavic folklore, had pretty sad lives.
Afterall, a rusalka only comes into being when a woman in an unhappy relationship dies in a body of water.
But don’t worry, they’re doing much better now. They’re always cackling in glee when they lure men into the water and drown them.
The prompt was escape. Since i couldnt do a monster that captures people, instead i went with one of the few monsters to be captured by people.
The minotaur, leaving the labyrinth for the first time.
(someone get that guy some shades. living in the dark his entire life has not done his eyes any favours)
Chubby mermaid because A. why the fuck not, and B. name one skinny marine mammal. Go ahead. I’ll wait.
Also, non-sexualized mammaries because i couldnt be bothered to draw a seashell bra.
Oh and you may have noticed the increased fish elements, like the eyes, gills, and mouth. Well the “hair” is more like the fins of a betta fish than actual individual filaments. Billowing sheets of color.
The lufferlang, a creature from lumberjack lore, is supposedly really fast, really venomous, and also terrified of its own reflection.
Ah, the hidebehind. A creature known for being really good at hiding (surprising, i know). So of course, there’s like, no descriptions of it other than “big and black”
instead i decided it’d probably have the ability to change texture and color like an octopus. But its default scheme (seen above) would still provide generic camouflage. Hence the bark bits, and the grey/green fur (think of sloths with algae)
A big thanks and shoutout to @thecomiccreator for being a sounding board/design help with this one!
(also, yes, the kid its stalking is dipper pines)
