Crybaby || Inanna & Taro
Oh where should I even begin!?
Well, tell me the most interesting bits.
The embarrassing stories and the good family times for sure.
Definitely not a date|| Inanna & Syaoran
Syaoran turned his head as he felt the tap on his shoulder, sure enough it was Inanna. He gave her a smile as he stood up from the couch. “I had no Idea you even entered the room” he let out a small, slightly nervous chuckle. How long had she been in the room? He tried to recall what he did since he sat down, hopping it wasn’t anything too embarrassing. “Yeah lets go” He mad a hand movement toward the door out of the doors and began walking toward it.
Syaoran was trying his best to seem nonchalant as possible. The earthbender was always one to care about what people thought of him. he couldn’t have the young bender thinking that he liked her, but at the same he didn’t want her to think he didn’t like her. Syaoran let out a sigh. It was gonna be a long night for him of trying to be nice but not too nice. “So… Uh” He turned his head back to Inanna “Nice shirt!”
Inanna dropped into step a few paces behind Syaoran, grinning.
“Yeah,” she glanced down. “I had to wear it, they’re the best team of course, yellow’s the only colour.”
Inanna looked at her feet and kicked at a rock on the ground, trying to stay calm.
“Do you want to do dinner?” She asked after a fashion. “Nothing too fancy, we could probably get some on the street on the way that’d be cool right?”
She clasped her hands in front of her, trying as she was to be nonchalant. Her palms were sweating again. She pushed her hands into her pockets, telling herself to stop being stupid. She wished she had more experience with how this friend thing went, wished she knew an easy way to draw the line.
“Thanks again by the way,” she muttered to her feet.
Crybaby || Inanna & Taro
Yeah… I guess having Syao here helps. He’s so mean to me though. He’s the youngest but he doesn’t act like it. Maybe I should smack him around some.
That’s not very good of him, you should support each other; you’re family.
There's gotta be something god there if you're missing it which is good. Perhaps if you told me bit about home? I don’t know it could help or something.
Detention || Open
Maybe they put you two in detention at different times. If shay was here there might be a catfight in detention.
I mean with those fighting words I’d probably have to break you two up
Are you making fun of me Syaoran?
But yeah that probably would have been a good idea. Are we meant to be actually doing anything or is the detention actually just boredom? What are you doing Taro?
I don’t know if it’s the rations here or just the environment, but I’m not feeling too well. Throwing up is digusting.
You know it's not all about you.
But yeah it would suck. You should probably go to a healer, you could be spreading the plague as we speak. I'll walk with you and make sure you get check out. Come on.
Crybaby || Open to Academy Students
Ah~ You’re so nice.
I really approciate it. That’s a word right?
I don’t think so?
And nah, just offering advice. At least you've got your brother here right? It’s like you got to bring a little bit of home with you.
Detention || Open
I may have changed my dorm room around…The rooms are extremely impractical. Unlike you two trouble makers im here cause I did something right.
Cat fight? Inanna who would want to start a “catfight” with you, you’re so nice!
That Shay girl you hang around with.
She’s got a stick up her ass I can tell you. I never did anything to provoke her. I don't think I should be here at all, she should be.
Definitely not a date|| Inanna & Syaoran
Syaoran had been looking forward to this, at first. Kinda how children look forward to a play date with a new friend. But then he began hearing rumors around the school. Normally he wasn’t one to care, or even listen to rumors. This rumor however was about him, that the young girl Inanna enjoyed his company more than he originally had thought. He was still very unsure of who started the whole thing though he was sure it was a combination of the two. The beautiful Shay was a bit too prideful for her own good and young Inanna too confident and stubborn considering her age. A small part of Syaoran wished he was there to see the whole thing. If not to be entertained but to at least know what exactly happened. But it was for sure that his name was mentioned more than once.
The earthbender ruffled back his hair, looking at himself in the mirror. He had chosen to wear jeans, a black and white striped shirt and a red jacked stolen borrowed from Taro. Syaoran hopped to looked casual, the last thing he wanted to do was to give the younger earthbender the wrong idea.
"This is not a date" He said mostly in an attempt to convince himself that the rumors were not true. After all he was the one who asked her to go to a pro bending match. Syaoran moved his hand over his hair again and then over his clothing trying to make himself look disheveled. "This is definitely not a date" He grabbed his wallet and a few choice items that he thought might come in handy and made his way to the common room of the earthbending dorms. Glancing around he saw no sign of anyone, including Inanna. Shrugging he plopped down on the couch imagining how the night would unfold. Getting out of the academy would be no problem. He knew the real struggle would be getting back inside the academy, if at all. Syaoran imagined that if the pair couldn’t get back in they’d be forced to spend the night on the street. The Island boy had no problem with that, and in fact had done that many times in his life. But his gentleman side didn’t feel comfortable having the young girl out on the streets at night. He pulled out his wallet doing a quick check, he knew if all else failed he could afford to get a cheap room for the night while he slept on the street. Syaoran let out a sigh, ‘yeah that would suck’
That’s when he felt a tap on his shoulder.
Inanna couldn’t decide how to wear her hair. She’d unplaited it from its usual side plait and considered its frizziness in the mirror. Not much she could do about it. She pulled it up into a messy bun for the third time this evening and stuck out her tongue at her own reflection. This wasn’t working and she was taking way too long over her hair than she ever had when going out with a friend before. She knew it was Shay’s fault, she knew it was Shay’s suggestion that she had some sort of crush on Syaoran that was worming its way into her mind even if it was completely untrue. Wasn’t it?
Inanna had never had a crush on anyone back home, her town was small and she’d known all the boys since they were toddling around rubbing mud all over their face and crying because it got in their eyes, it didn’t really prompt her to see them in a romantic light. It wasn’t something she’d ever been into anyway, sometimes when the girls in her class spoke to her, they’d asked her who she liked but she’d declared romance was dumb and would turn back to what she was doing before they had interrupted her.
She tried to shake these thoughts out of her mind as she smoothed her clothes absentmindedly. She couldn’t have worn anything else but her supporters gear that proudly displayed “West iguana-parrots” on their green official t-shirt that she’d saved up for months to buy. It was slightly too big as they hadn’t carried her exact size but she couldn’t wait any longer to buy it. She grabbed her coat and a small satchel bag and rushed out of her door, hardly believing that this silliness had caused her to be late. What if he had gone without her? Then she’d have had to wait to see a match like she thought before and somehow that seemed impossible to bear when she’d been so close.
The earth common room wasn’t really far away from the first year rooms but it felt like a long walk that evening. There didn’t seem to be many people around at all which was probably for the best. Inanna began absently tearing the skin around her nails with her teeth, a disgusting habit she adopted when she’d already bitten down her nails. She hoped she didn’t get in trouble for this outing, she’d been in trouble more than she would like in her first week. Returning home was just not an option and would never happen.
She was ashamed to admit she stood outside the door of the common room for a minute or two psyching herself up to walk in. But she did and saw Syaoran had had his back to her the whole time anyway. He hadn’t even heard her, Inanna smiled and relaxed a little; she’d forgotten what Syaoran was like in her fretting. He was going to be totally oblivious about it all; about how this could be seen as one of those “dates”.
She tapped Syaoran on the shoulder pointedly, still holding a little smile.
“Would you believe me if I said I’d been here the whole time?” she joked. “Ready to go?”
First Day || Masaru and Inanna
Masaru makes his way to the academy, bag thrown over one shoulder and banging against his hip. He has a bright smile on his face and examining everything in sight. He has never see a place so big before; even just the gazebo was bigger than his whole house back home. He seemed to have stumbled into the courtyard which he doesn’t mind at all, the whole place intriguing him. Masaru wants to explore his new home and maybe meet some new people.
Inanna was fuming as she walked away from her fight with that Shay girl. Completely forgetting that she was heading for the dinning hall she felt she had to get outside. Really, she wanted to leave the Academy for a while, go somewhere where she could bend without restrictions, that always made her feel better. But she knew there was nowhere really like that here so she decided to walk through the gazebo on the way through and out into the courtyard though it wasn’t really on her way. She forced herself to slow and wipe the irritated scowl off her face for the courtyard was reasonably crowded. Still she managed to swing her shoulderbag into the stomach of a boy in her path. This caused her to stop and turn.
“Sorry,” she muttered through her teeth a little, as though it was his fault. She looked to see if she had caused any significant damage.

Probably a bad time to be homesick, isn’t it?
I don't know if there's a good time really.
Doesn't make it invalid though.
Detention || Open
What exactly did you do Inanna?
And Taro do your homework, if you get kicked out you have to find your own way home
It was one time!
Well I can see why you lied about it, that’s kind of tame dude. You must be Taro right?
Me? Well, I was trying to be friendly but somehow it became a yelling catfight and I guess someone tipped off the teachers.Don’t know why I’m here when it was her that slapped me and I didn’t even hit her back. Really, if anything, I deserve to be rewarded for that not punished.
So what did you do Syaoran?
Detention || Open
Oh well hey there friend. Wrongly accused as well?
Well… not exactly but I didn't start anything so I don’t think it’s at all fair that I should be the one in trouble for it.
How did you get wrongly accused? Doesn't seem very likely.
Detention || Open
Alright I’m here but I’d like to point out that none of it was my fault ok?
Hidden in the trees || Kaiyo&Inanna
So unwise.
Not the reaction that Kaiyo was anticipating, most students were aware that they weren’t allowed to bend at other students, especially at ones that looked much older than themselves. She couldn’t have been older than fifteen, which would’ve made her roughly a first year. And though Kaiyo admired the fighting spirit, she did not like to be challenged. So as the boulder grew closer and closer to Kaiyo, she swayed her arms swiftly, drawing a large water from the garden’s fountain, that shot out towards the boulder, freezing into a solid block that crunched heavily under the weight that crashed into it. Kaiyo then full sprinted toward the earth bender, utilizing the frozen water as a ramp, she shot into the air, unfreezing the water as she did so that when she landed she could form a ring around the girl.
"Hasn’t anyone told you that you’re not allowed to bend at other students" She kept her hands steady as she continued to circle the water around her tightening the circle with every pass of her hand. "Especially one that is more advanced." Kaiyo searched the girls expression for any signs of retaliation as she tighten the ring. She had no plans of hurting her, though if she struck again Kaiyo wouldn’t have felt bad to what would come next. Being a daughter to an organize crime Lord, meant mercy was never a learned trait. Old habits die hard.
"I’m going to give you two choices little badger mole, you can either surrender and we can stop this. Or.” She tightened the ring again. ” Or you can fly another boulder at me and see what will happen.” Kaiyo was expecting the latter, but she was ready either way to what the Earth bender had in store.
Inanna ground her teeth, feeling only rage well up inside her from being entrapped in this water ring. She didn't abide bullies and that’s what this girl was shaping up to be, but then she'd never been up against benders better and much older than her, especially not of a different element. She judged that she was unlikely to go along with her threat, it was open-ended and vague, she probably didn’t have it in her and if she did she’d be in trouble. But she’d never been one for thinking with an even head and backing down, in fact she’d never done it in her life, so much so her family had given up asking her why she was beaten a little worse for wear after school. Her opponents had always looked worse, that was her promise.
She took a moment while the girl spoke to feel the earth at her feet not letting a single emotion show on her face the way she’d taught herself in many fights. She pulled the earth from around her feet up, encasing her and visualising drawing the water in with the dry earth that had lain around the base of the tree. She then broke the earth from around her with a forceful grunt. Before the fragments even hit the ground, Inanna struck the ground in front her with an open hand, hard. She sent the tremor she had made there in a long line and pushed up underneath the girl attacking her, letting out a yell that wasn’t really a word. Her intention was to dislodge the girl from her firm footing, which was the way she’d learned to fight other earthbenders and to show her she meant business. Just because she was younger and smaller than most did not mean she was weak. An earthbender could never be weak, their bending was grounded in strength was what she had always been taught.
Something at very back of her brain was telling her this was a bad idea. It wasn’t like back home, here she did not know how she would be punished; whether the teachers took their rules seriously. But Inanna was almost fully focused on the fight she had started and easily glossed over this thought. She shifted in her stance but didn’t move, staying grounded, ready for where the girl would appear next.
A Bumpy Start || Inanna and Shay
Shay watched Inanna mock her, and her mouth quickly morphed into a scowl. She listened to her speak, and every time she opened her mouth, Shay just wanted to shove something in her mouth. All she could think was, ‘Shut up. Shut up. Shut up.” Shay smirked, ” Why? Does somebody have a crush on Syaoran? Someone must care a whole lot if they’re asking around about that person.” Shay spoke in a condescending tone, anything to make her go away.
She then glanced away from her then back quickly saying, ” Back to my room. What about you? Are you going to go stalk more of Syaoran’s friends?” Shay sighed scolding herself for not being nice. She had to keep on reminding herself of Reise. It hurt to think of Reise. Of course it did. It hurt even more to know that there was a baby Reise inside of her.
That’s when it hit her. How is she going to do it? How was she going to raise a child? She’s on the run. She’s lost and confused. There was no Reise to guide her. Shay didn’t know what to do.
Inanna’s voice snapped her out of her trance. Shay looked at her with her mouth agape. She quickly slapped her across the face, ” Excuse me? For your information, I am surely more fit than you are and certainly stronger. Watch your goddamn mouth, book girl.”
Shock ran through Inanna’s body so strong she almost forgot the dislike she had of this girl. Her, like Syraoran? In a romantic way? She couldn’t fathom it in her head but it sent fear through her, what if he thought that too. Inanna had never had many friends before the Academy; it was a combination of her temper which had always gotten her into trouble, her dedication to her bending training and her unwillingness to engage in pointless social interaction. After a while, her peers had learned to fear not only her strength and bending ability but her refusal to never back down, even if she knew she was going to lose. But she wanted to be friends with Syaoran, he had been kind and he said things that were interesting not pointless and boring. And she realized she cared what he thought about her because she wanted to be his friend and for him to like her. Viciously, she pushed this thought to the back of her mind.
The slap hit her across the face and she stood and took it; slowly raising her hand to the smarting spot, that way, Shay had laid the first blow and anything beyond this point was perfectly justified. A slow smile spread over Inanna’s face, one of her most dangerous. So this girl thought she wasn’t strong, thought she was at the Academy for her smarts rather than her bending. Book learning had never been Inanna’s strong point, she’d always run on outside to train or play sport, she wasn’t smart and weak, wielding only measly words and facts.
Anger boiled in the pit of Inanna’s stomach and she balled her hands into strong fists. She reasoned she couldn’t bend in a moment of clarity, the corridors would likely collapse if she tried and their fight was already starting to draw a crowd of students stopping and beginning to whisper. She promised herself she would get this girl back in some other way. She could use the crowds against her
Realising she’d been standing silently fuming possibly visibly, she scoffed at the other girl’s misinformed insults. Intending to sting, she spoke slowly and loudly, only drawing more people to them. “You must be a bit stupid, Shay. Please, a waterbender like you stronger than an Earthbender, that’d be the day. My bending is founded on strength, waterbending is founded on spirituality and phases of the moon or some shit, hardly a “strong” element and I’m sure I could take you on.”
The words were tumbling out of her mouth with alarming speed and ease on her part. She wasn’t used to fighting her battles with words to say the least but somehow she could find the words. She didn’t necessarily believe what she was saying at all, her only desire at this point was to sting and bite and hurt. It was so unlike her, crowds usually made her uncomfortable she wasn’t used to working them to her advantage. She stepped closer to the girl and spoke in a lower voice only for her, driving every word out past her teeth with all the anger and malice that was burning up inside her.
“I would wipe the floor with you bitch, you aint hot shit and everyone knows it. I’ll be seeing you, you can count on it.”
Inanna turned on her heel, still not fully sure of what she had done.
A Bumpy Start || Inanna and Shay
Shay crossed her arms. She didn’t have time to be nice to people. In fact, she didn’t have time for this. Sure she didn’t have anywhere to go, but this is definitely not where Shay wanted to go. Shay exhaled annoyed. She wanted to open her mouth and make a smart remark about how she didn’t care about the girl’s well being, but bit her tongue. Shay had promised Reise that she would try to be nicer. She heard the girl reply, and raised her shoulders as a sign of agreement. Shay didn’t want to waste her time, and this was clearly a waste of time.
She replied bitterly, ” Shay.” Hearing the name Syaoran, Shay had to think for a moment. She always remembered names, but she had to match the name to the face. Oh yes, Syaoran. Shay remembered now. He was the Earth bender she had ran into. She nodded curious as to why the girl called Inanna was wondering in the first place, ” I’ve talked to him a couple times. Why?”
Inanna was taken aback by the other girl’s curt tone and her sudden standoffishness. Semi unconsciously Inanna mimicked Shay’s folded arms and shifted her stance back somewhat defensively.
“I’m just trying to figure out his circle I guess,” she said, raising an eyebrow. “Where are you headed so recklessly anyway, Shay?”
She said her name with some malice in her tone, intending to mock. Though really wondering where that name was from; it didn’t sound particularly watertribeian. But then she had some odd names in her family too.
Inanna took another look at this Shay girl now, having pushed her burning anger and annoyance to the back of her mind; feeling only an eroding dislike forming in the pit of her stomach. She seemed to be of Northern Water Tribe descent from what she could gather, as she had only ever had that age old book of the tribes her uncle kept from near 200 years ago, she could be mistaken. The jewel about her neck was traditionally water tribe and she saw she was clutching it, perhaps even without realising it. Inanna had always thought their jewellery was beautiful, it suited Shay. She was somewhat strongly built, especially for the usual willowy benders of her tribe and she had a bit of a tummy on her, which kind of looked out of place.
Without thinking too much about it, Inanna smirked a little and blurted out. “I’m heading to gym, perhaps it would do you good to join me?”
Hidden in the trees || Kaiyo&Inanna
Kaiyo wasn’t even five minutes into her alone time when she heard a loud yell from below. Pushing back a branch she peered down to see who it was. Perfect, an earthbender. She thought to herself as she examined the girls sturdy stance. Kaiyo had seen this particular bender in passing many times with a book, like the one she dropped , crammed in her face. Though the name escaped her.
Kaiyo was about to say something when the girl called out if someone was there, not even taking the time to look up and in that moment something in Kayo shifted as a smile slithered unto her face. She sank away carefully as to avoid drawing attention to herself as she weaved through the branches of the great tree that casted shade over most of the garden.
Now standing behind the earth bender in the trees, Kaiyo drew water from a seal skinned pouch, suspending it in mid air before her. She was always taught to keep a pouch of water with her at all times, you just never knew when you were going to need it. So taking aim Kaiyo shot out tiny iced spikes one by one, knocking more nuts around her from all sides, hoping to scare her. Kaiyo then dropped from the tree and landing behind her in a ready stance, her hands close to her pouch.
"Can I help you?" She asked with a mute expression, her cold blue eyes searching that of the earth bender.
Inanna was ready to protect herself. All tiredness had been pushed out of her mind by the rush of adrenaline pumping through her body. Perhaps some tree creature had snuck into the Academy and she could help in escape and get back where it came from. But perhaps not, perhaps this was more sinister and she was set. Nonetheless, she let out a yelp as nuts began to fall around her in earnest. She threw up an earth shield over her head as quickly as she could to stop the on-slaughter. It, whatever it was, was definitely in the trees. She broke the earth umbrella apart and pulled the earth around here, lowering it to circle her feet.
Then she heard a voice behind her and whipped around. For a second the person looked straight at her but Inanna didn't even take the time to register them, or think about the rule that strictly banned bending at other students. She was angry and before they could say another word she condensed the earth at her feet into a sizeable boulder and sent it straight into their stomach in retaliation.
