Being the president of the animal lovers club, Eren obviously loved animals. When he wasnât busy avoiding his studies or throwing himself into conveniently placed trash bins (which, by the way, happened more often than you would think), Eren liked to spend time down at Soleilâs animal shelter. He would walk dogs, help groom the animals, and just generally provide an extra set of hands where he could. Most of the time, it was a lot more rewarding than playing video games, which is what he usually defaulted to. Eren had headed to the shelter straight after basketball practice, deciding that he could use a few hours away from the campus. Once arriving at the shelter he signed in to do some dog walking, before venturing into the kennel area to find a dog that hadnât been walked recently. Finding a rather energetic looking golden lab, Eren checked his tags to see if he had been walked recently and upon finding out he hadnât, happily headed inside the kennel with a leash, some treats, and a few baggies. "Hey there boy!" Eren said quietly, chuckling as he crouched down to introduce himself to the golden lab. As soon as they were level, Eren was practically bowled over by the dog in itâs attempts to lick his face clean off. Clearly, the lab was very friendly. Still laughing, Eren held out the dogâs collar and let him slide it on before fastening the leash and heading out of the kennel with the lab leading the way. Once outside, Eren breathed a relieved sigh and began walking the dog. While he loved volunteering at the shelter, it was always very difficult seeing so many animals in cages. All he wanted to do was adopt them all - but something told him his roommate might have a problem with that. While his thoughts drifted elsewhere, Eren hadnât noticed that the lab had stopped and was now sniffing someone elseâs leg, tail wagging happily. The brunette let out another laugh and stopped, moving towards the dog while sparing the person a glance.Â
Eren crouched down, petting the golden lab while looking up at the other person, âs-sorry about that! Heâs just really friendly.â
Having done a couple weeks' worth of schoolwork in the span of one day, Laura felt accomplished. Victorious. And her schedule certainly felt like it was considerably lighter. Now she was awfully bored and was starting to think that maybe she should have spaced out her homework and stop being such an "overachiever", as a friend would put it.Â
So, finding nothing to do back at the dorms, she'd headed outside for a walk with nowhere in mind.
A few good minutes passed before she stopped in her tracks, an obstacle in front of her. Laura blinked, suddenly finding herself being accosted by a strange, large dog out of nowhere. She wasn't particularly knowledgable when it came to animals- she knew how to cut and serve a deer five ways for survival's sake, but that certainly did not count. Other than a beloved black rabbit she kept in her dorm, Laura simply did not have a lot of experience with the creatures.
Her eyes softened as she gazed down at the golden-hued dog, who was sniffing at her leg curiously before it started wagging its tail in a manner that screamed "Be friends with me!"
She blinked again when a boy ran up to the dog, an easy smile on his lips, the same one worn by so many residents in Soleil. The same smile she was envious of. "It- it's fine," She cleared her throat, trying to uphold a semblance of dignity. It was then that she felt the urge to pet the stupidly happy animal. "Um..."Â
Her hand hovered over the dog's head- for some reason, her face felt like it was burning. She darted her gaze back up to the green-eyed male. "What is his name?"

[[Hardly the Place ]] - Closed for minixsoldier
@minixsoldier
Heâs a growing boy who needs his rest. His mother had stated that more times than Atsushi could recall. Somewhere along the years it had turned into more of a defense that his unusually large stature required him to need more sleep than others and would defend him until she was blue in the face⊠He let her. If it got him out of trouble, it got him out of trouble. Whether it was true or not, the violet haired Center had never really bothered to try and figure out⊠instead he had just allowed himself to give in to his urge for catnaps whenever he felt them. Regradless of how appropriate the place was.
Classrooms, buses, cafeterias, the bench at practice⊠Or in this case the Library.
He wasnât subtle, it was hard to be when you stood 6â10 and according to your doctor were âstill growingâ. So the mass of limbs sprawled out across the table was anything but inconspicuous and Atsushi honestly didnât care. He probably would have spent most of the afternoon napping had it not been for the hand on his shoulder shaking him awake.Â
"âŠ.What" he mumbled, cracking open a single violet eye to stare up at the stranger who had decided to wake him from his peace.
Spending all of your life, and even then probably more than that, in a military base made you desensitized to seeing men of "grown-ass" proportions. But even then none of them came close to the purple-haired giant slumbering before her. But truth to be told his stature did very little to deter her. Laura was never one to back down from a challenge. Not like this one looked to be very challenging- he had a sort of sluggish quality to him.
Laura crossed her arms before her chest, glaring down her nose at the enormous boy with her visible scarlet eye. Her accent was thick, but she trusted she would be able to get her point across regardless.Â
"I demand that you move from this spot at once. As your superior, I have every right to claim it as my own. And in case you didn't know, and I would certainly not be surprised if you didn't, libraries are for reading and studying, not for loafing around."Â
Her glared intensified by just a notch. "And if you refuse to comply, I will not hesitate to use force."
â âEmerald gaze shot over at the girl, immediately noting her accident.           He always did find that sort of thing adorable, and fascinating. The           simple infliction on words said a lot about the personâs upbringing           and home.
â Stationed? So you were in the military? â
Guy asked, casually keeping the conversation up. He didnât mind           the company, in fact he welcomed it. Eyes trailed back to the sky,           noticing the darker clouds rolling in.
                                        â I personally enjoy snow.
I donât get to see it much,             but I always enjoyed the serenity the first snow fall brought.
I suppose I always thought it was relaxing. â
The guy seemed nice enough- truth to be told, meeting someone with a disposition this...sunny, was a bit new to her. Most of the people she grew up alongside with were severe and just as stoic as her and ever since she'd arrived at Rouvres, she chose to keep to herself.Â
"Yes, I...grew up in the military," That was kind of putting it lightly. "That is, until my commander thought it necessary to put me 'on hiatus' und persuaded me to look to more academic pursuits," she answered, rubbing her hands and shoving them into her coat pockets.
"Relaxing...? What is so relaxing about all of this? It's just...snow."

"Aww, donât be so cold, Laura~"Â Kisumi chuckled, not even minding at how the girl had only granted a smile at his brother and not at him. He wasnât surprised that Hayato had gone through her wallsâ heâs quite an expert in doing so after all. Still, that didnât stop Kisumi from wanting to get to know the girl.
Cold or not, sheâs still pretty cute. And sheâs Hayatoâs babysitter so he was already a few steps away in earning that smile too. "I told my friends that Iâve decided not to go with them." Camping sounded like a really good idea but it somehow didnât feel right leaving Hayato when their mothers already left for another business trip. He didnât want his little brother growing up with a family that goes out a lot with so little time for him.
"You can teach him all thisâwait, self defense?" Was that normal in regards to babysitting a child? Kisumi wasnât certain. "âŠerm, well, you can just teach him that some other time! I just noticed that today seems to be the perfect day to go and have breakfast together! Come on, itâll be my treat."
At the pink-haired boy's jibe, Laura furrowed her brows and glared at him, although a part of her knew that her efforts to push him away via death glare would only prove to be fruitless. Yet again. If Laura was an unstoppable force, Kisumi was the so-called immovable object. Honestly, she had no inkling of an idea as to why he chose to bug her as much as he did- it was a secret to nobody that he was very popular.
Secretly, and it was something she would never admit to anyone least of all herself, she appreciated the attention; although he probably gave the same amount of it to the other girls he knew. Choosing to ignore the cold comment, she crossed her arms. Soldier's tactics dictated that if an opportunity for the enemy to waste their resources presented itself, you had to grab it. Wear them down.
"Alright Shigino. I am not spending a single cent. I fully expect you to abide by your words, like a real man." Noticing Hayato was still standing behind his brother, Laura's proud smirk turned into a concerned frown and she motioned for him to take her hand. "C'mere, Hayato."

â« ROOT 5 - Senbonzakura â« // Music Shuffle Starter
The preparing of the play had been going as planned, and Chiyo was constantly on the move. The speaker had broken, causing fuss around the acting group as not even a lamenting song was audible in the theater. Grabbing the nearest actress, Chiyo urged her âYou sing, Iâll dance." She hoped the latter would agree until the speaker was repaired.
Oh shit. Why did she have to sing? She was just filling in the role of a super minor character; but if she didn't do anything, the show would be ruined! What were the lyrics to the song she was supposed to sing? Her mind scrambled for the first song she could think of; and said first song was a German military anthem. "Ob's stĂŒrmt oder schneit, ob die Sonne uns lacht, Der Tag glĂŒhend heiĂ, oder eiskalt die Nacht..."
"Who topped?"
"There is no question about it! Surely, it was I!"
It was nothing short of natural that she did, wasnât it? She was tougher, and more aggressive and and lacked the shame the other girl surely had, but why did her memory leave her with vague images of her being pushed onto the bed and her being the one having her clothes taken off for her and holy, sweet mother of blessed Germany, why was her body this sore?Â
And who would have thought the normally sweet Chitanda heiress was into THAT kind of thing?
Honestly, it was better not to dwell on something soâŠlewd. Especially not since her dominance over a cute, feminine, seemingly-harmless girl like Eru was in question. When it looked like Eru was intent on moving out of the bed, Lauraâs arm darted out and wrapped around her midsection, before she pinned the other girl down by the wrists.
Her face felt red-hot, probably mirroring that of Eruâs, but she was determined to cement her point. âYou insult me with your doubt, Chitanda. Do you want me to prove to you what I am capable of?â
"Are you sneaking out on me?"
Oh shit. She hadnât been counting on that happening âIâŠam.â Laura cleared her throat. There was no point in tip-toeing around it, just like sheâd been literally doing before this very second. Last night only came back to her in the vaguest of blurry snippets, but it was as plain as day what had transpired.Â
How could she do something this degenerate? Here she was, up at the butt-crack of dawn at ass oâ clock, attempting to sneak out of a room she did not recognize and getting caught in the process, which was in itself humiliating because sneaking was an essential part of her training;Â how could she screw up this badly?
Laura tugged at the bottom of her dress- only to realize it wasnât the dress she put on for the club last night, but an over-sized teal hoodie. His hoodie. And dang if he looked good without it, sitting up in bed like that. AndâŠwas that her dress on the floor, straps torn off beyond repair? What exactly did she drink?Â
"I will go now. Things to see, people to do- I mean, I-" She full-on glared at him. "There will be no breakfast, and I declare this shirt mine. Good day." With that, she slammed the door shut behind her.

Being short was not a problem that Mako had but he could sympathize with those who did. Heâd only stopped in the store for a few things but he couldnât watch this poor girl trying to reach an item on the top shelf any longer. He felt obligated to help her. Hopefully she wouldnât throw a fit about him helping out. Some people preferred to do things on their own but really it had to suck climbing. As he approached to lend a hand he realized just how tiny she was. She barely came up to his shoulder. He cleared his throat feeling a bit awkward but maybe it was best to ask. âUh, would you like some help?â
Laura possessed all the marks of the perfect soldier: lightning-quick reflexes, unmatched strength, and a tenacity for protecting her country like no other. But apparently, whoever had designed her fell short (in more ways than one) in giving her one small thing: height. When she heard the strange young man's offer to help her, she cast him a glare with her good eye before resuming her failed attempt at reaching for the blasted can of spam. "No. I am doing fine by myself. I will reach this. I swear it!"Â

"You look fine, Hayato. You donât have to look perfect in front of Laura. Sheâs your babysitter. Sheâs seen you at your best and your worst."Â Kisumi pointed out as he reached down to pat his little brotherâs hand back to his side after Hayato attempted to fix his hair for the third time since they arrived and knocked at Lauraâs door.
Evident hue of red rushed up to Hayatoâs cheeks as concern breezed upon his soft features. Ahh, what a cutie. Kisumi still couldnât believe that he was blessed with such a flawlessly endearing brother. His attention was then averted away when the door was finally answered by the girl theyâve been waiting for.
"Hey, Laura!" Kisumi grinned, his hand waving casually in greeting while the other held onto Hayatoâs hand. "Ready to eat with the two cutest boys in the city?"
Her baby-sitting start had admittedly been rough at first, but she'd learned to adjust; a task made easier by the meek, perfectly-behaved little boy she watched over. Who knew baby-sitting would be this easy for a girl who was raised on knowledge of gun use, war tactics, and an assortment of other...questionable skills? Laura had been finishing up on securing the room she shared with one Mei Tachibana when she heard the door bell ringing. Much to her surprise, it was...Kisumi Shigino.
"What are you talking about? I see only one."
Hayato might be a perfect angel, but his brother wasn't exactly as easy to handle. She glanced down at the little boy and gave him a smile, one of the very few she reserved for him, before turning her attention back to his troublesome brother, her features adopting a more neutral if not slightly irritated look "And what are you doing here? What happened to the trip you were supposed to go on? This day was supposed to only be for Hayato and I. I was going to teach him self-defense."

Song picked:Â Is The White Horse Coming? - Sunny Hill
These boys were seriously getting on her nerves. They had been chatting about how well-endowed but "probably-stupid" the ebony-haired girl feeding the ducks at a nearby pond was for at least ten minutes now. It looked like the other girl wasn't aware of the disses being thrown her way, but Laura was.
True, all of these people, including the girl herself, were most likely inferior to herself, but that didn't mean she lacked honor. And really, it was more out of annoyance than anything that she was going to give them a peace of her mind. Finally reaching her boiling point, she snapped at them, a sneer crossing her features, accent coming out thicker than usual because of her irritation.
The silver-haired girl reached over and grabbed both by the lapels of their jackets, jerking their heads down so they were at eye-level. "What poor excuses for men you are. Does she look like cattle you can grade? Are your lives going to become better by dissing her? Pathetic."

Gilbert twitches anxiously in line, to the disgruntlement of surrounding fair-goers. Itâs a German event, the first heâs attended since coming to Sunrise, and heâs instantly attracted to the smell of roasting meats of which heâs been deprived of for far too long. Â
Slowly, the line inches forward, greedy hands taking stick after stick of the very wursts he has been eyeing for hours actually ten minutes. Finally, Gil reaches the front of the group and is about to claim his prize when out of the corner of his eye, he sees a whorl of silver hair reaching for the sole remaining sausageâŠ
"Hey! The last bratwurst is mine!"Â
Finally, finally, they were acknowledging the best country to ever grace the face of the planet. The smell of the food was mouthwatering, and all of the decorations adorning the place reminded the ex-soldier of home, stereotypical as some of them might be. Then, she spotted them. Wursts. How she'd managed to live this long on foreign soil without eating any was a wonder. However, it appeared she had a competitor; but his pleas fell on deaf ears as Laura hurriedly grabbed the last sausage.
A smirk graced her features as she brandished it in front of him. "You are completely wrong, and I forgive you." Then, she made a show out of taking a triumphant bite out of the sausage and made the most content sound. "Too bad this is the last one. The very last one. No more wursts. But if you get down on your knees, I might share some with you."

Laura missed Germany. Granted, most of the time she spent outside of the military base was spent solely getting to know the terrain than the usual sight-seeing, but it was still home. She missed her sisters-at-arms and she even missed the rigorous training. Soleil was strange- warm and peaceful compared to the cold cruelty of the base she was so familiar with. In all its sun-washed, firelit beauty, the city tugged at her heart in ways she couldn't properly place.
Her sigh into a white puff in the cold air. Night would be approaching soon. She'd been out jogging before stopping at the peak of a hill overlooking most of Soleil, whose houses and buildings looked like toys and matchboxes from here- a postcard view. She could hear the distant rumble of the train running past behind her, the tracks several meters away. It was all very picturesque, but...different.Â
Laura took a step back to gaze at the view from a bigger scope when she felt a much larger, much heavier body unceremoniously ram into hers. In her distraction, she'd failed to prepare for it in time and was sent sprawling to her side. "Ah, shit," she cursed- it didn't take a lot to recognize the pain that flared up her ankle was indicative of a sprain.
"Gott verdammt," she growled, cradling the injured appendage and turning her gaze up to the scarlet-haired stranger, who looked like he'd been jogging as well. "How about you watch where you're going next time?"
