Jean Morrison, historian at Old Fort William in Thunder Bay for 15 years, has written widely on Fort William and the North West Company. Her credits include North West Company in Rebellion: Simon McGillivray’s Fort William Notebook, 1815 (Thunder Bay Historical Museum Society, 1988, reprint 1997) and numerous articles and reviews on the fur trade and local labour history in The Canadian Encyclopedia, the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, the Thunder Bay Historical Society’s annual Papers and Records, The Beaver and Families (Ontario Genealogical Society). Since retirement in 1990, she has served on the Ontario Geographic Names Board and the Old Fort William Advisory Committee.
Morrison loves living in Thunder Bay where she enjoys its multicultural society, its symphony orchestra, theatre companies, art galleries, historical museum and many other cultural opportunities. Besides her church and political activities, she takes time to savour Lake Superior’s grandeur and Northwestern Ontario’s wilderness. Married to Ken Morrison, she is proud of her three grown daughters, one granddaughter and three grandsons.
Jean Morrison has written a fascinating and important book, full of drama and colourful historical figures. Rare paintings, drawings, maps and archival photographs complement her impeccable research and lively text.Superior Rendezvous-Place encompasses the French predecessors of Fort William, Native Peoples of the time and the evolution of the fur trade, with an emphasis on the North West Company era.
This most important work concludes with details of the reconstruction of the fort and the development of Old Fort William, one of Ontario’s "must see" attractions.

This gorgeous hand-crafted mink tail keychain/bag-charm was lovingly made from super luxurious upcycled/recycled genuine mink fur (black with dyed dark red highlights, VERY RARE!) with an adorable little bow made out of genuine red leather affixed to the top of the tail. Bow also sports a tiny tuft of real black rabbit hair on the front/center as well.
You can order this pompom in one of three options: -Keyring only -Clasp only -Keyring + Clasp
Mink tail dimensions are (roughly): Length: 3.5" Width: 1.0" Weight: 0.3 oz (these dimensions do not include any of the metal keychain hardware)
End-to-end, including all hardware, keychain is about 5.25" long.

Inspired by the trends we see in daily our lives working in the garment district of NYC, our mission is to bring the world our own take on beautiful, hand-crafted, ECO-FRIENDLY, recycled/up-cycled, genuine fur and leather gifts.
ALL of our fur and leather pieces have been salvaged from the discard bins of the industry that we work in. Noticing the VAST amount of material that simply gets thrown directly into the trash due to the fact that it isn't large enough to be made into the garments they were made from, we decided to seize the opportunity to not only save these pieces from the landfill, but also to supply our small-scale crafty sides as well! All of these materials would have otherwise been thrown away due to their "unusable" status in the industry, but we decided it was better to breathe new life into them and give them a second chance, ensuring NOTHING gets thrown away!
