365 Care User Journey
360Care Project Summary
Recently with the number of seniors increasing,  the number of elders who use smartphones follow. The aim of this project is to improve elderlies abilities to use modern technology by user centered design which is more convenient way for them, considering the difficulties they had. 365Care enables elderly users to easily manage their health. Moreover the health care assistant  who takes care of the users will also be able to check and record their health status in time along with their families through this app. This makes it possible for other family members to check and be aware of the user's health wherever they are.

365 Logo colour: change black to dark green or dark blue.
Elderly version
Change to PROFILE instead of MY PROFILE.
If there is no language option, better to put icons for elderly version.
Change the colour to orange from Sign Up.
Assistance version
To add patients, change to âsearch by nameâ instead of âsearch by mobile numbersâ.
Change notification time to âUp Nextâ than âNowâ because it might be late if the notification says ânowâ.
Turn off notification.Â
Change method of editing medical notes. Put some notes in the first screen.
show how assistance edits the medical notes.

Student Nurse Feedback:
Health Assistance/Family ver.
They usually have 4-5 patients per nurse so I should make a screen to add more patients. eg.Patient list. Instead of using âelderlyâ on menu, reword it as a patient. I think if this was a real app, it will need a whole a lot of fixing, but overall the idea seems really good, useful and convenient. It needs more improvement because in real nursing, we need to take more detailed notes such as type of stool, continent/incontinent, amount, colour, and how many times they moved their bowels. You also might need to consider the different colour codes that are used in hospitals/rest home. code red represents medical emergency, code blue cardiac arrest/respiratory issues, code orange represents aggressive behavior. But personally, I donât really mind what colour the app is. Iâd prefer icon.
Elderly ver.
For the menu part, Icon and text should both exist because some elderly people have dyslexia (inability to read) depending on their conditions. Allowing the patient to access nursing medical notes is not a good idea because nurses often state the behavior of the patient as a concern, such as âpt can be impulsive when showeringâ. This kind of information is only for the health professionals to review not the patient. I also think this app is more beneficial for the nurses rather than the patient, so maybe focus more on benefiting the patient rather than the nurse.

Project overview
Design Key points for elderly
Need intuitive and simple design for elderly to increase their usability of smartphone.Â
Important main components are menu layout, icon, text and colour. menu and buttons should be in same position consistently. Consider about button size and white spaces. Use identifiable colours.Â
Menu Layout: Simplify it. Perception ability decreases when people get old, so do not use more than six menus/icons. Simple icons/symbols.
Typography: High readability. minimum 14pt. maximum 45 to 60 words.
San Serif fonts include Arial, Helvetica and Verdana.
Colours: Consider colour cognitive decline, use warm colours (best colours ex. orange and red)
Layout: They prefer everything in one screen not scrolling down.
Effects: 3D(drop shadow), frame, symbol, pictogram, no texts, rounded corners background.Â

APP convenient to see the past health records/medical check up easy to contact with their relatives and families/face to face. familiar to use mobile phone. easy to read the texts and easy layout to make them to think it is not too complicate  to use apps or using smartphone. Something that can share with elderlies and their children.
The use of smart phone can give positive energy to elderly people if they know how to use it well. Enhance the overall efficiency of the interface design for elderlyâs convenience of using smartphone app.
