The first Minorcan album, KEEP AT HAND, is made up of songs I wrote during the last few years of the George W Bush presidency. It's a Romeo & Juliet story taking place during an imagined future where the KKK is on the rise. I was very pessimistic during this time and didn't think Obama would have a chance. Fortunately, I was wrong. In November of 2008 I held my 2 Month old daughter and cried, full of hope watching Obama's victory speech. I later released the album in 2009 due to funding issues and it felt irrelevant. I've been a chronic optimist ever since...even now when our country faces a dangerous resurgence of public, no-shame bigotry and I find myself revisiting this scenario.
