Didn't think I'd be making such a blog but I'm genuinely surprised at how much the Goatlings fanbase came together on Tumblr... because of its demise.

So, I thought I'd make a separate space to yap and post old stuff, maybe post HA Buddies I make in the multiple closet revival tools or revamped goat bios with the archived item/AD PNGs.

Love investigative curiosity because I decided to just a take a second to comb through the HA Buddy Closet trying to figure out what hair I used in one of my Monster Masquerade Nightmare Squad buddies because it was bugging me that I couldn't name it for some reason

Thinking on hindsight stats and being on the winning team for 3/5 of the Monster Masquerades I participated in isn't half bad. I won Mothirella (Team Vampirella), Saccharine Swashbuckler (Team Pumpkin Pirate), and Ribbon Romantic (Team Graveyard Groom), but I lost on Weird Science (Team Weird Witch) and Marotte Morbus (Team Doctor Pester). ...Although if I won the latter, it would be a very short lived trophy.

Goatlings was on the mental backburner during 2023 and 2024 so I missed Deathly Growler vs Phantom Maestro and Abyssal vs Big Bad Red because I remembered Monster Masquerade in the middle of October. Nearly forgot again for 2025, but I remembered just in time, although I did a lot of events on crunch time because the November extension made me a bit lazy with it.

Solely based on items, I think I would've picked Phantom Maestro and Big Bad Red, which would've gotten me Grimmgill, but not Phantom Growler. I didn't get many of their items post-events besides the plushies, but someone did get me Big Bad Red's AD off of my wishlist for Giving Treat Wars last Masquerade.

To this day, I still question why I picked Weird Witch when I would end up hunting down a bunch of Evil Scientist's items later down the line. I think the only opposing Team items I hunted down later on for the other years were Mothman's BG and Ribbon Mummy's Hair Ribbons. And maybe the Marionette Hands if I had noticed them before the Goatlings Apocalypse.

Love discovering Goatlings site lore after the closure because I fell in love with the Botanist Caps while playing around in the HA Buddy wardrobe clone and thought to myself "maybe if the site wasn't dying, I'd consider hunting those in-game"...

Only to discover that one of the caps, the one with the dangling flowers on the left, the one the HA Buddy I use as my PFP is wearing, was the one that had to get redesigned with the original Botanist for looking too much like a Hoyoverse character.

So, essentially, my HA Buddy PFP would have been impossible to create on-site even when the original hat still existed because it has a few items that didn't exist during the OG hat's run (the Breezy Bob hair and the Marionette Hands as recent examples).

(The Goat Editor doesn't have the birthdate editable at present, so I changed it with Inspect Element. Normally it wouldn't bother me but PennyCandy's birthdate is sacred to me.)

Bio:

"Salutations!" Here comes PennyCandy, granter of hugs soft and warm! This cozy goatling struggles a smidge with social boundaries and often overachieves trying to please others, but once she clicks with someone willing to mellow with her, she'll be stuck to you like cotton candy! Penny loves gathering for springtime picnics and blanket fort tea parties- cozy comforts and favorite foods are a must! Despite being the one to host, her "batteries" are, ironically, often the first to wind down... it's a good thing there's always something soft nearby.

Post 3/3 of my goat herd! The ones that didn't get bios but at least got a smidgen of treasure. Sens and Auburning are rehomes, though the latter was named Craftbit when I first got them.

Victuri is a Yuri on Ice reference that I managed to snag and PennyCandy was my birthday goat with one of my Dream ADs.

My last visit to Goatlings was for screenshots, as I just wanted to rip off the bandaid of the site disappearing instead of sticking around for final posterity trades, but I kind of wonder if I should've checked the rehome to fill my final goat slot with an apocalypse adopt.

Post 2/3 of my Goatlings herd- the ones that I never got around to giving full bios or treasure and I will likely make mockups for them in the future. Of note, all of these, with the exception of Ravenstar and StarStriker, are rehomes! SunsetShimmers was a Discord giveaway rather than from the rehome center, but she still counts.

In terms of stats, my oldest goat in terms of ownership is Ravenstar, my Day 1 goat, while Tablo is the oldest in terms of site age.

Goatlings is officially dead and the dark side of it that came out recently is making me hesitant to miss it, but here's a handful of my goats- specifically the ones that have fleshed out bios. I'm planning to do some revamps with some Frankenstein-ed together bio pages, but here's how they were at site end. Yes, I do have screenshots of all of my goats, but I'm just posting these for now.
