I just think they put way, way too much work into eddie from a preproduction standpoint for him to be a tragic one off. it does not make sense. why put that much work into the tattoos and the costuming and the set dressing if you just need some guy to die. billy was in 2 full seasons and I'm pretty sure he wore the same pair of pants the whole time and his room had about as much personality as he did. barb had like 10 lines and six of them were in her death scene. I don't think they actually wrote a character for bob, I think they just gave sean astin some dad clothes and said have fun out there. why did they put so much work into eddie's tattoos that we don't even SEE. why was he such a fully fleshed out character if he just died for no reason
