Now if you remember last time, those five books from Madame Gothel’s shelf were missing, I bet you’re wondering where those went
Before we can get to that, I should tell you that though Marinette can no longer enter her home realm, she can now influence certain things to happen through the guidance of the Mirror of Truth
If you remember the second part this series, you’ll remember that Marinette had a discussion with a magic mirror, and that mirror as you now will learn was the Mirror of Truth
Said Mirror of Truth has now become Marinette's guide due to the fact that Marinette’s Parable never showed up
So now The Mirror guides Marinette into choosing Vessels for the five books of those who can protect and save her.
Marinette has to assign five Parables to people she knows, she has to match them to the core values of each Parable, she has to subject five people she knows to the hell she was dragged into
She must assign The Thief: Jack to someone who knows the value of others and the arts
She must assign The Crooked Cat: Parn to someone who knows how to use trickery and mischief to gain more for themselves and the people they care about
She must assign Goldie Locks: Princess Leda to someone who wants to fix their past mistakes and better themselves
She must assign The Red Riding Hood Sister: Ruth to someone who can handle responsibility and have a cool head
She must assign The Dark Prince: Prince Fiachra to someone who listens to their heart and takes pride in what they do
Unfortunately each Parable comes with a drawback, which the Vessel will have to pay for.
Those who are Vessels for Jack become angry easier and are prone to get more violent.
Vessels of Parn have their instincts drive them, which wouldn’t be so bad, if they didn't take on the instincts of a predatory creature.
Vessels of Leda feel constant guilt and feel a feeling of remorse that is eating away at their insides.
Vessels of Ruth are constantly on edge, waiting for something to attack them, they are not able to trust others outside of the other Parables of the golden shelf.
Vessels of Fiachra feel hopelessness and have a burning under their skin to find something before an unknown time runs out.
And here is where we begin with the Vessel who gets Jack
Who other get a thief who appreciates others value then an artist by the name of Nathaniel Kurtzberg
If you remember in the last part, you’ll know that there are two people in Marinettes’ old class that felt something go wrong when Marinette went missing
Those two being Chloé Bourgeois and Nathaniel himself.
Let’s say for now that fate has a way of reaching out to those that are connected to a greater cause, and right now that cause is Marinette
It had been merely two days since the police had come and interviewed the class about Marinette’s disappearance and to say that Nathaniels’ patience was being tested was an understatement
Marinette may be missing, and she may not go to their school anymore, but the students of Collège Françoise Dupont still dearly love her, expect for one
Lila can not handle the fact that even now Marinette is a bigger topic then her, so obviously she's going to try and stir trouble
She goes for the path of ‘Marinette was part of a bad crowd, it's no wonder she went missing’
And boy does that make Nathaniel’s blood boil, he hasn’t felt this angry in and very long time, not since Evillustrator, but he’s not gonna let that happen again, no, he needs to do something more
So he he listens to the only other person who felt what he felt on the day Marinette went missing, one Chloé Bourgeois
And how lucky is he to find how much she can’t stand it either, after all, she’s known Marinette for a very long time, if someone would know about her, it would be Chloé
Plus, lucky for him, Chloé has connections, ones Lila could only dream of, so he goes to her and they start planning
What better way to discredit the liar than by showing all of Paris how great a person Marinette was?
So they begin their project, to show the world how much a better person Marinette was, a person Lila could never be
Unfortunately for Nathaniel, they’ll need some dirt on Lila first, and out of him and Chloé, he’s the one that less likely to be noticed as a ‘threat’ to Lila, so it’s up to him to follow her around
But this leads to him finding something odd
In the schools library, on a shelf in the back, a book stands out, It’s a deep forest green with the name “Jack” on it’s spine
It doesn't look like any of the other books in that library, and to Nathaniel, it is something he can’t ignore
Something like that has to be valuable and there's no way he’ll pass something like that up, even though he’s never had a thought like that before
So he snatches the book, it feeling oldly warm in his hands, it leather cover feeling well loved
He's just about to open it when he hears Lila and Alya come in the library and he quickly stuffs the book into his bag and gets on with his mission of collecting dirt on a certain fake fox
It isn’t til he emails the dirt to Chloé that night that he remembers the book in his bag, where it seems to be calling him now
With little hesitation, Nathaniel pulls out the book and opens it
All he sees is a flash of light and suddenly he’s somewhere new
He sees a windmill, and what seems to be a stump of some giant plant
And for some reason, this feels like home to him
He looks down to the book in his hands only to find it’s turned into a round mirror, not much larger than the palm of his hand
And reflecting back to him is a man he has never seen before, but he already knows deep inside him is Jack, The Thief who stole from the Sky Kingdom, and the Parable he’s a Vessel to
It is time to start Introducing the Parables!! Meet Jack, The Thief and someone whos gonna test Nathaniel's tempter!

First: The Beginning
If you paid attention to the tags in the last part or the title in this part, you know what I'm about to say
Marinette is considered to be a missing person back in Paris
First, she never returned home that day she opened her book, and while her parents were out looking for her, they found her phone that was smashed when it was dropped after she was pulled into the Parable Realm
So now not only is she missing, they believe she was kidnapped and let me tell you, that spread fast
Within the first 24 hours, Marinette's Parents called everyone they knew and anyone that Marinette knew to try and see if any of them had seen her
That resulted in all those people calling people they knew to see if any of them had seen her and by the 32 hour mark, a missing persons report was filed
Now I’m not going to bore you with the police stuff, but I will tell you these three things: Her old school was questioned, her new school was questioned, and her missing persons report causes a number of people to panic
At Collège Françoise Dupont, students and teachers alike are questioned about Marinette, and for the most part, no one really has anything to say
Most of them say the same thing: She was nice girl and did everything she could to help others, they can't think of a reason why anyone would want to hurt her, they were heartbroken when she moved schools and they’re in shock over her disappearance
There is a few that try to say a few different things
Lila tries to say Marinette was mixed in with a bad crowd, to which the questioning officer notes but doesn’t comment on
Adrien, bless him, says since Marinette has designed things for a few famous people, Jagged Stone being one, that maybe that's why she was taken, she was a good friend that he cared for and he hopes they find her
It’s actually Chloe and Nathaniel who are the first to suggest something like an Akuma is behind this, saying they had a feeling around the time she went missing that reminded them of the feeling they get when an Akuma is around
At Madame Tellers Story Brooke, everyone questioned has nearly the same story
“ I don't really know her that well, She’s a nice girl, she had just picked up her book like every student does and had left to go read it, thats the last they saw of her”
Madame Gothel tells the police that Marinette seemed to be a happy and bright girl and she fears what ever could of happened to her newest student, but nothing much else
She doesn’t need to tell them about the Parable books, they wouldn’t be able to help there anyway, only her students with Parables can help Marinette now
So when she sees that the other five books from the same shelf as Marinettes are missing, she knows that Marinette is on the move
She knows that Marinette is assigning those books to people she knows and Madame Gothel prays those five don't fall to the same fate as Marinette does
Lets Explain The Books and Why Marinette Is Currently Screwed

First: The Beginning
If you don’t remember how the last part ended, just remember, Marinettes life is now in danger
Why is Marinettes life in danger?
Simple, the Realm of the Parables has been at war for hundreds of years due to two individuals, Mother Goose and the Story Keeper
Who are they? A set of sisters that trap and entangle innocent people into the Parable books
Mother Goose is the one who chooses who to put in what parable, and Story Keeper is who binds them to the books
Think of it as a curse, to bound to a book, to be bound to the Realm of the Parables, and those books themselves were meant to stay in the the Realm of Parables but as you can probably tell, that is not the case
You see, about 500 years ago, all those books were released from the realm, spilling out into the world we (or rather Marinette) knows today. Those books were collected and put into a personal library to the family that created the Madame Tellers Story Brooke school
There is not much known at this moment about that family (or what had happened to them)
What they discovered about the books is known though: The books chose a person to be the Vessel of the Parable who the book is a about, the vessel gets that Parables abilities and their enemies, the books can transport the vessel to the Realm of the Parables
Once there the book becomes a mirror, and most importantly, The soul of the Parable the book is about is trapped in the book, making that soul the guide of the Vessel who was chosen by the book
Now that you know that, you should know that the land of the Parables is extremely dangerous, with story book and legendary monsters, dark magic and just about everything that would want to kill you, think of it as a fairy tale Australia
Now a normal person would be killed there, but Vessels of the Parables can easily survive this as they are guided by their Parable, but there is still dangers for them
First is the fact that since this is the home of Parables, they are now at the mercy of said Parables and not every Vessel gets along with their Parable (you’ll see two cases of this later down the road)
Second, now that this Parable is back with a Vessel, the Vessel will be targeted by old and new enemies of their Parable, and some of the old allies of those Parables will not be allies anymore (once again, you will see a case of this in the Au later on)
And like as is said, this is fairy tale Australia, so there's gonna be everything trying to kill the Vessel.
Why is the Vessel being targeted? Well besides the war going on, Mother Goose and Story Keeper are trying to collect the Parable Books and in order to do that, they need to kill the Vessel to gain the book and this is why there is a system that is established at the Madame Tellers Story Brooke school
Remember those name tags in the empty places on the bookshelves in Madame Gothels office?
Each of those name tags is enchanted, meaning if something happens to the Vessel while they are in possession of the book, both the book and Vessel will be pulled from the Realm of Parables and stopped back in the office, so there hasn’t been a death or loss of a Parable in over 100 years
Yes, means that some of Marinette's new classmates are Vessels, but not all, if a student is not chosen by a book by the end of their first week, they are given a decoy book, not a Parable
Yes that means that there are currently classmates of Marinette who are in the Realm of the Parables with her now, but they cant help her escape
You see, Marinette was pulled into the Parable before she could make a name tag, so she currently can't be forcibly pulled out
And if you remember, Marinette’s Parable book came from a shelf that was lined in gold, because with those Parables, there is a different set of rules
You see other Parable books, when first opened, allow the Parable to get the Vessel to agree with being a Vessel before they are pulled into the Realm
The Parables on the golden self are different, for once the book is opened by the chosen Vessel, they are taken right away to become a Vessel
This is due to those books being the holders of 6 extremely important Parables to the war, thus once they choose a Vessel, they stick with said Vessel till their death 9the Vessels death, not the Parable, they can't really die)
And with Marinette’s being one such book she didn't get a choice, only something went wrong for her
As you can tell from the first two parts, Marinette's Parable didn’t show up after she was taken, and she had been wearing a magic pair of earrings
Those earring and the book had a negative reaction to each other resulting in Marinette being split between the magic of the miraculous, which left Tiki in the Ladybug form and Marinette pulled into the Parable Realm with no way back
Unless she uses her new abilities as the new Vessel of the Eclipse Deity and sends those other five important Parables to new Vessels
Marinette now has to choose five people to be Vessels for the books she saw on the same shelf as her own
Marinette now has to place The Thief: Jack, Goldie Locks: Princess Leda, The Red Riding Hood Sister: Ruth, The Crooked Cat: Parn and The Dark Prince: Prince Fiachra onto five people she knows

Okay so last time we saw Marinette looking into the mirror that her book turned into but now her find her in a new place, unable to reach anyone as she stumbles around what seems to be an abandoned tree hideout, or more importantly, a meeting hall of said tree hideout
Lets get things out of the way first, The Ladybug she saw standing in her place was Tiki, who managed to gain the Ladybug form due to the magic that the book gave off and the ‘split’ that was somewhat talked about in the last post
Next i’ll tell you that Marinette was not able to get a hold of Tiki, as Tiki, realizing something was wrong, took off to talk to Master Fu to see if he knew what was going on and Marinette's mirror was unable to follow her
The Mirror did, however, start to speak to her, giving her directions to a place unknown to Marinette
And so Marinette ends up in a place the Mirror calls ‘The Hideout of the Red Riding Hood Sisters’, a hideout that, you guessed it, in a tree
Marinette is directed to the meeting hall of said hideout where she meets the being, or rather the artifact that had lead her there
Marinette, feeling a little freaked out, grabs a candlestick and threatens the mirror, demanding to know what is going on, what is happening and what happened to her when she opened the book, to which the mirror explains:
‘You are now in the Realm of the Parables, a Realm where all stories originate from, right now you stand in the hideout that is the origin of the Red Riding Hood tale, but not as you know it
‘You stand here now because that book you opened was the origin of the Eclipse deity and you were chosen by the book to be the vessel, so you are now the Eclipse Vessel, Marinette’
Marinette, by now having put down the candlestick, stares at the mirror, unbelieving of it’s words
‘You do not believe me, but yet you know it is possible, you’ve seen magic, so in your heart you know this is true, but you are asking more, as to why this happened, or rather, what has happened’
Marinette nods and sits in a chair at the large table, waiting for the mirror to continue
‘You see, each book choses someone, and unfortunately for you, you had been chosen by another magic force before you were given the book, so now, you are in two’
‘When you opened your book, you still had a magic artifact from another, the book and that artifact fought over you, and as a result, you were split, though not entirely’
‘The you that sits before me is the everyday you from your realm, the ‘you’ that is known to the whole world, in your place in your realm stands the being of magic you often bonded with to become stronger, they have taken your image of strength but not the you that exists as a normal person’
Marinette slowly nodded along with the mirror, trying to grasp at what it was saying
‘So is there a way to send me back?’ asks Marinette to which the mirror takes on a somber expression
‘At this point no, this side of you cannot return to your realm, not without help beyond that power that has your strength’
Marinette stares at the mirror for a second “Are you saying I'm stuck here?”
The mirror continues “Until those who are not bond to that realm the same that you are come to assist you in freeing yourself from being the Eclipse Vessel, you cannot leave”
Marinette of course then starts to cry, asking how she could ever get anyone to help her if Tiki herself was unable to hear her
“The other Parables can help, but you would need a Parable that was shelved with the Deity of the Eclipse”
Marinette looks at the mirror “All those missing books...are those people stuck here too?”
“No, unlike you, they were not split, so they can come and go as they please, some maybe your classmates, but they will not be able to help you, tell me Eclipse Vessel, do you remember the other books on the shelf that housed yours?”
Marinette pauses for a moment before nodding
“Jack, Fiachra, Ruth, Parn, and Leda” Marinette replies
Mirror respond with “Then you must help those books find a vessel, and you must do it quickly”
Marinette looks up at the mirror, asking why
“You need allies, for the Realm of Parables is at war, and with you being the Vessel of one of the most powerful parables, your life is in grave danger”
Let’s start with this, Marinette has moved schools, you probably saw this coming but it’s necessary
We all know with the Lila thing going on, she couldn’t stay there, not with people who didn't have her back
So when she’s given an offer to transfer to somewhere better for her, her parents urge her to take it
She transfers to a school well known for building character in its students, The private school Madame Tellers Story Brooke
It’s a highly respected school just outside of Paris
She even got a scholarship, isn’t that nice? Fully paid, no expenses, she even gets a choice between if she wants a bus or choose another way of transportation to and from school
She thinks things are finally looking up for her, even Tiki thinks things are looking up!
She gets there and she’s met with a middle aged woman who introduces herself as Madame Gothel, the principle of Story Brooke, and the woman who sent Marinette the letter offering a scholarship
Madame Gothel offers to show her around, telling her about where her classes are, the teachers she’ll be having, and the book she’ll be carrying
The Book?
Ahhh yes, while Madame Tellers Story Brooke is known for building character, it’s also known for giving every student a book about a story to help them become a better version of themself
These books are often based around old fairy tales or as they are called in Story Brooke, The Parables
The Books often only contain a single character, one of which they believe is best suited for the student
For Marinette, she will be getting her book later in the week, once the teachers believe they have figured out which Parable character they believe will fit her
So for the first week of her new school life, everything is fine, she’s making new friends, making plans to do stuff with them, finding her place in her classes
And learning about everyone's Parables
It is the last day of the school week when Marinette is called down to the Principal's office to get her book
She opens the door to see Madame Gothel looking over a massive wall of a bookcase, with some books missing and in there place are name cards for students, the students that have the book that belongs there
Madame Gothel motions for Marinette to come to stand beside her, in front of and outcrop in the bookcase that is bordered in what looks to be gold
All books seem to be present in this section, with six books, five of which have names, one of which having a title
“Miss Dupain-Chang, are you able to read this one's title?” asks Madame Gothel, pointing at the book in question
Marinette nods and Madame Gothel asks her to read it out loud
“The Deity of the Eclipse, Madame Gothel”
Madame Gothel nods and takes the book out and hands it to her, telling her to only open it when she’s at home, alone
Marinette quietly nods and takes the book, feeling uneasy about the Madames Behaviour
She is quickly dismissed from the office and school, allowing her to start her way home
Only she cant help but feel as if this book is off, and she holds it in her hands, it almost seeming to have a heartbeat
She doesn’t pay attention to where she is, how she got there, all she knows is that she needs to open the book now
She doesn't hear Tiki telling her to drop the book and get away from it, all she knows is that she needs open it
So she does
And it's as if the sky around her has gone dark, as if the sun was suddenly blocked from her view, or was it blocked from viewing her
She hears tiki calling her name, but it's getting fainter as it gets darker around her
She feels a pain in her ear lobes, where her earring are
Then she feels as if her heart, her soul is being torn like a piece of paper
Half of her feels like it was jerked back into the darkness, taking the book with her
The other half, a half that felt light and warm, is being pulled forward, Tikis voice and the earring going towards it
It all goes dark, and she feels as if she was cut off from the part of her that went to the light
It feels like she blinked, but suddenly she's somewhere shes doesn’t recognize but feels as if she should
here
But she looks down into her hands and where the book was once there was now a hand held mirror, looking out to Paris
Hello! I am Mewlita, and I’m here to share my Miraculous LadyBug and Dark Parables fusion Au! Was told by a dear friend of mine this was a good idea but i felt the need to explain what the Dark Parables are!
The Dark Parables are a series of 16 (currently) game that follow a detective as they sold cases that involve popular fairy tale stories, like Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and The Bean Stalk and more! They’re hidden object games and i highly recommend trying them!
My Au involve taking things from Dark Parables and adding them to Miraculous Ladybug. The Au itself will revolve around Marinette, Luka, Felix, Kagami, Chloe, and Nathaniel as they must deal with what the parables have to offer them, so let’s book the book and start reading their story.
