One Way Traffic To You! (Persona Q)
Yeah, I liked this chapter lol. It’s just so silly, I love it! Also I feel like my editing’s improving over time in a way. I took influence from actual manga chapters and also other fan translations. And I do believe this chapter looks pretty dynamic! Hope you enjoyed reading
Artist: Watarizora Tsubamemaru (渡空燕丸)
Source: Persona Q Comic Anthology (DNA Media)
Chapter: 5
(The anthology manga stuff are all officially published and licensed by Atlus, except the scans and translations here which are done by me. Do credit me for the scans please)
Makoto, Yukari, and Junpei questioning where Ryoji lives is kinda funny. Anyway, worked on this for the Ryoji fans out there!
I’m currently busy with irl stuff, but I’m trying to work on translating these. Plus, I realized I was working on 4 long chapters at once! So I had to choose one, and I chose a PQ chapter that I was kinda interested in lol

Persona characters’ comments on Shinjiro (Translated)
This was provided by the official Persona Q artbook in case anyone’s wondering
And I absolutely love it!! I’m just happy Atlus provided this to every character in PQ
Also as much as I’m biased towards Shinjiro, to answer Nanako’s question, I think Dojima’s stronger in a normal fight because, well, he’s a trained cop. But if we’re counting personas, Shinjiro’s definitely stronger
Oh yeah! Atlus basically confirming Shinjiro’s the black featherman (basically the black ranger) through Teddie here. No wonder none of the P3 characters have the black featherman outfit because they persevered it for Shinji 🔥
Anyway, I enjoyed translating this a lot, gonna work on Yosuke’s next! Hope y’all enjoyed it too
What Yosuke and Shinjiro say about each other
I translated these from the official PQ artbook, which have pages dedicated to characters commenting/saying stuff about each other. Shinjiro is my favorite P3 character while Yosuke is my favorite P4 character, so I checked what each one has to say about the other and translated it. I plan on translating their entire pages though!
Persona 4: The Magician
I just found out Atlus released an entire manga/series about Yosuke. The whole thing is around 200 pages long and the events take place before P4’s main events. This may just be because I still haven’t delved much into the world of P4 content. But I don’t know if anyone has translated it yet or not. I plan on buying it either way. So if there are no translations yet, I may just let this be my next big project. Although I’ll still definitely keep working on P3 stuff
Kenji Tomochika's sidelong glance while slurping Hagakure’s ramen (June 23rd)
“Haah, there’s nothing in the world like stopping by Hagakure after school when you're starving. That bonito based Japanese broth with the mysterious secret ingredient really hits the spot with those thick noodles. Chilled ramen is fine and all, but there's something special about eating piping hot ramen in the middle of summer…
Oh, that's the famous third year Sanada-senpai. I only ever see that guy boxing all year-round, doesn't he have to cut weight? I guess he also eats junk food like a normal person does. And the guy next to him is his… wait, who the hell is that? He's giving off this incredibly "evil" aura...! Man, he's got some serious guts sitting at the counter with that vibe. Is he just fearless, or is that guy "fear" itself...?
Either way, that one corner is like a chaotic harmony of the divine and the disastrous.”

We got Kenji’s opinion on Shinjiro, yay! And yes, I always note down Shinji’s relationship with other social links because I can. Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Shinjiro Aragaki’s grumbling after saving reckless Gekkoukan Students (May 6th)
“Dammit! You guys better cut it the hell out! Even you idiots should be able to tell just by looking that this place is dangerous! These aren't the kind of guys who are gonna back down just 'cause you're talking sense to 'em.
…Huh? You're the ones who visited Aki before, aren't you? Did he send you here?
…Tch, I should've known. He probably gave you some naive, self-righteous speech while telling you "not to do anything reckless," right? Dumbass. He needs to keep that preaching to his own damn muscles.
So, what is it? You heard about Fuuka Yamagishi? …She's been missing for a while now. Or rather, she might already be dead. That's why when the punks hanging around here got snatched up and dumped, people started saying it was the work of her vengeful spirit, since she was being bullied and all…
Ah, I see. Now I get it. That bastard Aki is trying to make up for "what he couldn't do that day." How pathetic…”

Back at it with translating Shinjiro stuff from the official P3 FES fanbook! I love working on these. Anyway, I hope you’re all doing well, enjoy!
Shinjiham/Hamugaki doujinshi translated
First of all. I would like to state that I do not own the doujinshi or anything. An anonymous user shared the scans with me. And to the fact I’m a huge shinjiham fan. I wanted to translate the doujinshi so badly. I am aware this isn’t the usual content I share, but I still wanted to try my hand on something new. Anyway, I hope y’all enjoy reading it! And make sure to support the original artist please.
Name of the doujinshi: How to Train a Carnivore
Creator: L-wing
Release date: December 29th 2024
Notes shared by the original creator about the doujinshi:-
※ Arahamu (Aka, Shinjiham).
※ They're dating.
※ Please don't think too hard about the timeline.
※ Nothing in particular happens.
Shinjiro Aragaki's mutterings/thoughts while visiting Sanada's hospital room translation
“…Good grief, Everyone’s talking about how Apathy Syndrome cases are on the rise or whatever, so I make one comment about and suddenly I’m dragged into this. Unlike you, I'm not some busybody mother-in-law who keeps tabs on every little detail of his buddy's health. And what kind of invitation was that anyway? “We can talk in peace at the hospital, so come visit.” ...Asking a favor and then dragging me here? You're one hell of a patient, I'll give you that.
Honestly, 'Apathy Syndrome' is way too fancy a word for it. If you ask me, those people are just quitting on themselves. Because people don't even understand the weight of their own single life, they blabber on about 'finding themselves' or whatever, and in the end, they wind up not knowing what they're even supposed to do.
...Then again, I guess I'm the same way. Tsk. Hey, I'm heading home. I brought you something, it's one of those 'Mighty Kid Calcium-Packed Milk Puddings.' You broke your rib, didn’t ya? Quit overthinking things, eat your damn pudding, and get some rest.”
—————
Man, I love these books. They gave us the reason why Shinjiro was visiting Akihiko’s hospital room that day. Maybe they mentioned the reason in the game, although I don’t really remember. But it’s still neat nevertheless in my opinion
Also Shinjiro’s giving this calcium milk specifically because calcium helps heal Akihiko's broken bones, showing his hidden, softer side in a way, which I find really cute
Oh yeah, this is the type of pudding Shinjiro shared with Akihiko. I have tried it once before when I had a stomachache. But it’s generally really good 👍 (I just wanted to share this because I thought it would be kinda neat)

Shigenori Soejima’s blog, Shinjiro’s installment translated

Shigenori Soejima
Behind the Scenes with Artist Shigenori Soejima Vol. 22
———
Hello, I'm Soejima, the Art Director for P3.
The 10th installment of the P3 character introductions features Shinjiro Aragaki.
Since this character appears relatively less often than the others, there isn't much artwork of him. He also wasn't drawn very often in illustrations either, but personally, he's one of my favorite characters.
There are almost no mid stages design sketches for Aragaki, the very first image I came up with in my head practically became the final design.
In the school setting of Persona 3, the upperclassmen roles are filled by Mitsuru, Sanada, and Aragaki, but the first two don't really feel like “senpais”.
Even though they are older, they don't have an atmosphere that makes you feel a hierarchy, so there's no sense of tension. In that regard, since Aragaki is a delinquent, I like that he has that intimidating presence of an upperclassman. Having just one character like this significantly boosts the sense of reality.
Back in your student days, didn't the seniors just one grade above you seem like total adults? It's especially prominent in high school, where upperclassmen seemed grown-up in many ways. Perhaps because I was drawing with that feeling in mind, I had people tease me that Aragaki looks like he's in his 30s…
This is the 10th P3 character introduction, which means we've now covered all the main characters. I haven't had many opportunities to look back on my past work until now, but organizing my thoughts like this has revealed new perspectives, making it a very meaningful experience for me.
From next time, while touching upon other characters in P3, I'd like to write about my other work and things I've been interested in lately.
This was Soejima.

I had fun translating this to be honest, but I generally enjoy translating stuff related to Shinjiro. This sense of adultery could be the reason Shinjiro is considered the hierophant arcana (although his SL is the moon in P3P). But I think Aragaki is the hierophant arcana due to other reasons that I might create a post about later
Also thank you @elle-p for sharing Soejima’s blog with me! Here’s the link
I hope you enjoyed reading this!
Shinjiro and Maiko
I love this so much to be honest. Because it just feels right that Shinjiro and Maiko have met. I’m so happy that the anthologies gave us this, and the fact this also official is the cherry on top.

Ken’s thoughts on his mother’s murderer during the events of April in the game
Wandering around Port Island
Ken Amada's mutterings (April 10th)
“I couldn't find him today either. That bastard didn't show up at that place today either… It's already been a year and a half since then, hasn't it… Everyone just keeps glossing over it like this, thinking it's fine now because a lot of time has passed, planning to sweep it all under the rug with lies and deception….. Damn it, I used to have a mom too… we lived together, ate meals together, went shopping by the station, and she used to take me to the cinema……!
And yet…… he snatched it all away!! But I won't give up. It's burned into my eyes. That scene… How that guy completely destroyed the life I had with my mom! So I'll definitely find him. "The culprit always returns to the scene of the crime" they say. I'll track him down, and then I'll make him suffer the exact same way…..!

I have been lately interested in the entries shown in FES’s official fanbook (I repeat, it’s not actually a fan-made book, just a book for the fans), it has so much insight on characters thoughts and actions throughout the game. Like here for example, we don’t get to meet Ken around the beginning of the game, but the book here gives us his perspective on things around the start of the game
Also it makes sense why Ken knows Shinjiro, cause in his memory in the answer, while he didn’t know Shinjiro, he does mention seeing a young man screaming and holding his head, so he does have an idea of how he looked like. Which I think is also why he came to the conclusion that Shinjiro killed his mother outside of Shinji’s conversation with Aki
Keisuke’s thoughts on Shinjiro
Killing time in the classroom hallway
Keisuke Hiraga's muttering (October 23rd)
“Hey, are you heading home already today? Days without club activities actually leave you with too much time on your hands, don't they? I'm just wandering around like usual, though.
Say, do you know Aragaki-kun, the guy who got caught up in that violent incident the other day? I've been at Gekkoukan since elementary school, so I remember the day he transferred to the school. He and Sanada-kun, who also transferred around the same time, were really close even back then. Unlike now, Sanada-kun was quiet, or rather, he seemed a bit timid, and Aragaki-kun was always dragging him around. To a kid, it looked like a boss and his henchman, but Aragaki-kun probably thought back then in his childish heart "I'm doing this to protect that guy!".
...You know, I think about this a lot. When you lose someone important to you, the people left behind can never let go of the memories of when that person was alive and well, right? I won't tell them to let go, of course, and I think some people can use the lose as a springboard to become stronger, but if it can be avoided, you'd obviously want to avoid it. That's why, not just for the person's own sake but for the people around them too, saving a person's life is a truly meaningful thing.”

Finally found the segment in the official book, so I decided to fully translate it too. I think all of this is really cool to be honest. Even Keisuke’s point of view is actually pretty insightful
Also @useful-boy seemed pretty interested in the segment. So I hope tagging is ok!
Fun Shinjiro Fact (and Akihiko too)
In the official Persona 3 FES fanbook, we are given some characters’ perspectives on October 4th. So Keisuke Hiraga talks about how he knew Shinjiro since elementary alongside Akihiko. He states that they were always together back then, although it was mostly Shinjiro dragging a timid and shy Akihiko around. He also says that they looked like a boss and his henchman lol.
I find this perspective interesting, it makes sense cause Keisuke is also a 3rd year. But also shows us more of Aki and Shinji’s personalities before the incident with Miki
I unfortunately don’t have a picture of the page, but I will make sure to edit the post and share it once I find the page again!
Shinjiro’s perspective on the incident that killed Ken’s mother
Shinjiro Aragaki's Situation at the Time of the Incident
Shinjiro Aragaki was the cause of the harsh environment Amada was forced into. He, too, was consumed by an agony no less intense than Amada's. After all, he had joined S.E.E.S out of a mere sense of obligation to look after Sanada, who was like a brother to him, even though his Persona ability was never stable. Having forced himself into action only to take the life of an uninvolved civilian, anyone, not just Shinjiro, would likely be left in a state beyond recovery. In fact, from that point on, he refused to use his Persona and even obtained illegal Persona suppressants from Strega to prevent it from running wild and going berserk. However, in Shinjiro's defense, there is a possibility that the Shadow that appeared at that time was born from the psyche of Amada's mother, and it's conceivable that without Shinjiro, Amada's own life would have been in danger. Regardless, the life that was lost can never be brought back.

I haven’t been uploading daily for a while. So here’s some translated stuff from the official P3 FES fanbook (basically an officially released book that covers interviews and extra details about characters and world building, it’s really cool). Extra Shinjiro information, so you know it’s gonna be good
