“okay gotcha. then i think i’m gonna love them” lauren smiled and took out the wallet from her pocket. she picked out the money and handed it over “keep the change” the money she had has she got from babysitting a few kids around here.
“awesome.” the girl handed her a cupcake, taking the money and putting it into the register. “oh, thank you!”

“Chat stay away from you?” Plagg repeated it like it was some joke but then he let out a loud audible oooohhhh. “He doesn’t know who you are in this look, I only know cause that time with Tikki… okay well he’s fine and as dashing as ever, you know you should really give him a chance I mean you never know who’s behind the mask and he’s a grade A Guy. I wouldn’t just work with anyone you know.”
“but, i’ve been ladybug a few times since i came here... maybe he hasn’t seen me.” she pondered aloud, her expression morphing to one of surprise as plagg mentioned she should give him a chance. “he actually wants... that? i thought it was just silly flirting. but i can’t date someone who’s name i don’t even know, and there’s adrien to consider...” the girls words became more mutterings to herself than to plagg as she tried to figure out her own thoughts.

❝ LADYBUG IS HERE ? ❞ chloe questions , jaw dropping slightly in surprise. it’s strange to learn that a few of paris’s residents seem to have appeared in this american city in addition to herself. she doesn’t know of any reasonable explanation for such a thing , but she ignores the feeling of confusion , flipping her golden hair over her shoulder as she recomposes her features. allowing a small smirk to pull at her lips , she continues , ❝ well , it shouldn’t be too hard to convince her. ladybug & i used to be close friends , you know. surely she’ll be able to do something to help. ❞
“yeah, i saw her the other day.” mari couldn’t help the annoyance slowly flooding her expression. chloe always seemed to bring out this side of her, and she didn’t like it. but she also didn’t know what to do about it. “yeah, you mentioned. total besties, right? i’m sure she’ll be just dying to help you.”

“Right? I’ve had that happen before when I was in Paris. A couple spelled their name wrong on the form and then had the nerve to be upset about it with me. Like, really? Not my fault you can’t spell your own name.”
mari’s expression brightened as she set the boxes down. “you’re from paris? so am i!” she knew it might be a different version of paris than what she knew, but it was still something.

HEARING THE FAMILIAR VOICE , chloe turns to the source with a muffled groan. ❝ well if it isn’t marinette dupain-cheng , ❞ she starts with a tone of disgust. ❝ as if this place couldn’t get worse. look , to answer your question , i definitely did not come here willingly. so , i hope you brought someone who could actually help get me home. adrien must be so worried. ❞
marinette couldn’t believe she was this unlucky. she finally talked to adrien, a real conversation (not that she’d really been herself, but whatever), and chloe showed up. part of her snarked that if chloe knew a little more about her, she’d be thrilled to see marinette. but chloe could never know that. “no one did, actually. it’s some kind of magic bringing people here. ladybug is around, so maybe you can convince her to help you.” not likely.

Gil figured that it couldn’t be hard to steal. He was faster than his brain, but there was also an audience that made it harder. His lips twisted at that, not sure how far he could go, but had already been in this situation before. “I haven’t had any of those before,” GIl responded, trying to imagine how either tasted. Sweets were a luxary that cost money, all of which Gil never had.
so many people in this town hadn’t tried sweets, and that was a shock to her. “really? would you like one? we’re allowed to give out samples.” she asked with a small grin. the boy seemed interested by the food, and she wanted to help him out.

“red velvet cupcakes?” the blonde had heard of them but never tried one. it couldn’t hurt to try to eat one. if she didn’t like it, she could spit it out, even though it probably was rude “i’d like to buy a red velvet cupcake. i want to try them” she nodded and took up her wallet “how much does it cost for one?”
“they really similar to chocolate. one of the main ingredients in cocoa.” she replied, before nodding with a grin. “sure. it’s $2.75.”

It was often a gorgeous treat to indulge herself in, stopping by the bakery after her shift had finished. Eliza adored everything more traditional, preferred to buy her baked goods fresh from here when she didn’t have the time free to spent on doing her own baking. Sometimes there was nothing more calming than a few hours spent alone in the kitchen, hands creating something edible. A smile light across her features, she stepped up to the counter, a list memorised in her mind. “Lovely to meet you- Eliza” She responded in greeting, to see someone else seeming joyous was a nice feeling, passing on her own name. “If possible, could I order a loaf of bread, a few bread buns- And as for cake, anything in particular you recommend?”.
“pleasure, eliza.” mari nodded, pulling the bread she’d requested from the rack. “of course, i just pulled these out of the oven. and as for the cakes, i really like anything with chocolate in it, but if you have any particular tastes, i can probably recommend something you’ll love.”

“Yep! I’m the reason Chat looks so cool, you are welcome.” He chuckled as he pursed his lips in thought. “Where is she…” He grumbled visibly upset, “If I became human I know she had to too, and I can sense her in the city but I can’t pinpoint her. There’s too much magic in this place.”
“oh...” she had known chat had a kwami, obviously, but to actually meet him, and in a human form, was odd. “i... last i saw her was maybe a week or two after i arrived.” the last time she’d tried to contact chat. “she went looking for information, and i haven’t seen her since. maybe she’ll be able to find you?” after a second, she realized he’d never answered the most important question (at least in her mind). “really though, is chat alright? i’m assuming he’s still back home, seeing as how i haven’t been able to get in touch with him, but is he okay?”
