Nobody talks about his enormous character development in the series and that's NOT okay.
I mean, he's the laziest, the most troublesome, the most catastrophic, and sometimes the most selfish character in the whole series.
But, haven't you ever thought that most of those traits have changed from S1?
The laziness was his trademark, he always wanted to avoid powering Adrien and only wanted to sleep and eat but in S2 that changed, he became more active, like when he put effort into communicating with Nooroo in the middle of the night, and when he was excited to present Fu to Adrien.
About getting in trouble and being catastrophic, in S1, bc of him liking shiny things (Chloe's bracelet) he caused an Akuma, and we know very well he was the cause of dinosaurs' exctintion. In S2 we see him solving problems instead of creating them, when he used his power twice for the greater good.
And selfishness... Well he only wanted to eat his good Camembert and to sleep in S1 but in S2 and 3, he has improved his relationship with Adrien, he showed more affection toward him and he's been more understanding with the situation with his father. Heck, he even sang a song to cheer him up! We also saw him counseling Adrien about love, which he's never done before.
Long story short, Plagg has had one of the best character developments in the series and nobody really noticed it, now this cute little boi finally knows what he's doing!
