For the pose reference I took a cinnamon roll photo of my colleague I took at the corporate party, very useful to have my own big poto archive. I made the sketch in autumn '24 but stuck with no inspirtion and finished in 2025. There were always something wrong with arms so I just charcoal-ed everything in black, fuck it, need to move on

A quick test I spent money for

I did my charcoal drawings with koh-i-noor Gioconda charcoal /2 before, but I found/1 silky black and decided to try it too. I used koh-i-noor kneadable eraser before and bought a new one because the pieces the previous one I lost somewhere +I took Faber castell for test

For my taste charcoal /2 is still better than /1. /1 feels just like any normal black pencil, it's not black enough and you can't scratch a hole in paper when you draw so it's not brutal enough to make a DrAmA. Same for kneadable eraser, Faber castell is too soft, probably it's ok for cotton watercolor paper if you sketch super lightly, doesn't rly work with charcoal but koh-i-noor deals fine with it.

They also have cool ink in 20 g bottles for inking pen drawing which I used a lot
