“So, what’s your excuse ? Why do you hate it here ? Maybe they all are zombies, we wouldn’t know. Aw, I’ll take that one as a compliment and of course, I can only say the same about you. People seem to be boring and just not interested in anything.”
While the golden-haired girl before her had a point she had barely come to terms with the fact that her best friend was a policeman who was his own police-wolf. So, coming to terms with Zombie's was too far down her list to trudge it up now. "I sincerely hope not, they'll bore me to death before they get their claws on my brain." Kenzi muttered with a slightly awkward laugh, "I hate it here because I didn't get a choice in being here. I'm sure if people were more interesting and appreciated having fun then we could get along just fine. What about you? What reason do you possibly have?"

“Not bad ass, just fun.” He said with a grin. “Plus, if this town is supposed to be grieving, then why not give them something to take their mind off of it?”
When she had thought Trick to be dead having a delinquent on her hands was the last thing she wanted but in saying that, he seemed like he wanted to have fun...and that was exactly what she needed. "Alright dude, I'm in. Where do we start?"
Caroline had been trying to escape the clutches of her mother for a while now. She didn’t want to talk about Jeremy’s death or what’s been going on anymore. The vampire just wanted to go home and cry on her own where no one could see her. The blonde hadn’t noticed she’d been hurrying so fast until she ran into someone and her eyes widened. “Oh! Jesus — m’sorry.” She said quickly and shook her head. “Not so much mission impossible, more like …mission keep away from my Mom who is also the Sheriff and fairly nosy about my life at the moment.” The vampire gave the girl a small smile. “I apologize again for clipping your shoulder. I’m Caroline,” she murmured.
While the raven haired woman couldn't sympathize with the golden locked enchantress before her, for her parents hadn't exactly been on the pedestal for parents of the year, she could only imagine how it must have been like to live in such a death-stricken town and have your mother on your back. She could even see the sadness beneath those ocean-blue hues which, she had no doubt, were normally alight with happiness. It was a shame to have heard about the deaths in town and obviously they were irreplaceable but that was life among the immortal world. Hell, even the mortal world. As a rule life was unfair. "Hey, don't even worry about it, dude. It happens and besides, you didn't hurt the shoes so I'm sure we'll get along just fine." Kenzi found herself loving her shoes more than she probably should, but since Nate was now a mere memory, she had to focus her emotion on something. What better than leather? "If you need somewhere to just chill, or grieve, or whatever I'm sure my roomie won't mind offering up our spare room in the loft...sometimes people need time alone, and sometimes others don't understand that. I'm Kenzi,"

The girl before her had a strange air to her, and Adrianna studied it with a miniscule tilt to her head. It was an energetic energy that surrounded her, one that many would usually find hanging around a child or teenager. But this girl was neither and yet, she possessed it anyway. Crossing her arms, she was drawn away from her study by the faint ‘oh’ that Kenzi murmured which caused her bright blue hues to focus once more on her physical form. Clearly Adrianna had said something that had surprised the mortal, but she couldn’t think of what it could have been. Unless the girl had strong feelings about her joking abilities. When she spoke again, the witch smiles lightly to ease the tension away from her head gaze. “I live here currently but I haven’t for very long, so there is little awkwardness in the question.” Her tone was pleasant, and her accent was a strange but warm mix of many. “I’ve come here looking for family of mine, I need their… help.” Adrianna finished, arching her own brow in response to Kenzi’s.
When the focal point of your life might also have been the one thing that could kill you there became a time when little things like joking and laughter were important. The act brought Kenzi entertainment, and joy, and made her forget that Silas could rip out her mortal heart and end it all. No matter that they had just fought the gardua who the onyx locked girl had thought to be mythical. Right here and right now she was putting her life on the line, yet again, for her Bobo. And she would do so for the remainder of her pathetic life. "No awkwardness whatsoever, man. You haven't lived here long and neither have I. Though I don't think I plan on being here just as long as you do. As soon as I can get out of this zombie town the better. My talents are wasted." She whispered beneath her breath while placing a hand on her hip, "Your family, huh? You know, Bo and I are what you would call freelance investigators, if you wanted we could help you find them? Or hell, even help you with what you're having trouble with." The thought caused the corners of her crimson lips to twist into a wicked smile, one that obscured her otherwise angelic features. What better to take up her time than a case? Sure, they were here on behalf of the Ash-hole but Kenzi wasn't controlled by him. She was neither light or dark Fae, let alone Fae at all, so she had no allegiance to him. Entertainment was in desperate need.

Hearing the wow slip from her lips, he had to smile. He was thinking the same thing about her at the moment, and hearing her verbalize it, made him laugh a little. Good to know they were on the same page. As she slid onto the stool next to his, he downed his drink, and ordered two more for them. He let his eyes take her in. She was spunky, cute, and had these amazing eyes that could see right through him, he imagined. He would enjoy spending a whole lot of time with her.
“I’m old enough to know better, and way too young to care.” He winked at her, shaking his head. “No, I don’t live in her basement. The boarding house on the edge of town, is where I live.” Everyone saw the house when they arrived. It was hard to miss. The thing was huge. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Kenzi. I’m Damon.” He slid her new drink closer to her, before tipping his own in salute. “To new friends.”
Wary that the God-like man before her had just told her where he lived, Kenzi wasn't sure if she should run a mile or just turn up on his front porch one icy night, you know - for a little comfort. If Bo had been sitting beside her then Damon probably wouldn't have been giving Kenzi a second look and if he had then the succubus most likely would've warned Kenzi against being around him. The thought made her eyes glisten with excitement; a chance had just arose to rebel against her best friend who acted as if she were her mother. Perhaps this town wasn't as dreary as she had first thought. Tonight was going to be fun. "That big old thing? You could hide a few dead bodies in there and no-one would notice...well, almost no-one. You could have some freaky old-man chamber hidden in there!" Kenzi muttered with widened baby-blues and a cheeky smile tilting her lips. "What? It could happen!" She whispered - lips pushing out into a pout. "Ooh, Damon huh? That's so mysteriouso." Words slid off her tongue in a slight Transylvania-like accent, glass risen to lightly tap against his, "To making new friends." She added quickly with a nod of her head before tipping it back only to practically inhale her beverage. A chiseled, soulful looking guy, who had practically the same attitude as her was flirting with her - every girl in her position would need a stiff drink to loosen herself up a little. "So, who in their right mind would tell a shady, black-wearing newbie where they live? How do you know I'm not some kind of kinky serial killer with a side of thief?"
Matt quirked a brow at the girl. He wasn’t very good at seeing eye to eye that kind of stuff. To him, clothes were just that. Clothes. Nothing more and nothing less. His Letterman Jacket that he always wore held a little bit of sentimental value, he supposed, but if he’d ever lost it, he’d never consider it like losing a part of the family. ”Impressed that you kept them looking so good for wearing them as long as you make it sound,” he decided on saying. It wasn’t too far from the truth They were in pretty neat condition, although even though it was impressive, it still wasn’t something of his interest. He smirked and chuckled. “A simple ‘no’ usually works, but then I’d think she was crazy.” He was a little surprised when she linked her arm with his. They had only met a few minutes ago, and while it made him feel a bit awkward, he didn’t pull away. He just walked alongside her, keeping up with her pace, a small smile on his lips. However, when she called him Matty, that did grate a nerve and the smile fell. His brows knit together for a brief second before before his face relaxed again. ”It’s just Matt,” he told her, “and I don’t know. Do you mean about the founding families? Pretty sure there’s a section in the library for that.”
Feeling as though she had struck a nerve within the masculine male standing merely inches away from her Kenzi's eyebrows rose in question; a nickname was a nickname wanted or not. She didn't see the big deal in surrounding such a minuscule issue. Then again perhaps that had been why he had been confused about how emotional over her shoes she was. Everyone was entitled to their buttons no matter how tempting it was to push them or not. "Are you kidding me man? I've had these puppies for barely a week. Which is why I need them looking good by the time I get home. They were a gift in order to persuade me to come to this dreary place...no offence." Of course she meant offence, everyone always did but they used that cliche in order to wiggle themselves out of explaining. Until Matt, no-one had caught her attention. Everyone just stared at her as if she were an alien creature. She almost felt like she should start throwing cats around so they could at least call her the cat lady. That would've been so cool. Zombie-town she decided to call it. On the off chance that it might make someone interesting find her. "Do I look like the kind of girl that enjoys reading? I couldn't give a flying rats ass, no matter how cool that would be, about the stupid founding families who think their immortal asses are more important than our mortal ones," Kenzi's icy-hues widened before her hand plastered over her lips, she was going to get in so much trouble for her big mouth. "I mean... What's wrong with Matty?"

Why did living with a succubus have to be so bloody frustrating? One moment she was the happiest chi-sucking immortal Kenzi had ever met, not that she had met many but still, and the next it was like she was looking at Kenzi to smother on her toast. Yes, she was mortal but she had absolutely no plans to become someones meal. And Bo wasn't like that - she would go out of town to feed on someone so as not to draw attention but it meant that Kenzi was left to her own devices. Which often ended in alcohol being pushed away because it was ugly, booze was ugly! The thought made her laugh but as quickly as her features had lightened they had twisted once more, in time for Bo to storm out of the loft, "Well, are you going to be home for dinner?" Words flowing from her tongue as sharp as knives, the raven haired girl placed her hands on her hips, opening the door which had just been slammed only to find someone standing there. "Can I help you?" She questioned with risen eyebrows, perfectly manicured fingernails tapping impatiently on the side of the door.
