I ship Destiel because it really is the greatest love story ever told. Tragically beautiful, it’s a story full of love, heartbreak… and love. It’s about two people who, in loving each other, learned to love themselves. Two broken men who found their worth in the eyes of another. It’s a story about loving and accepting that you deserve to be loved in return.
I ship Destiel because of lingering stares, and stolen glances, gentle touches, and crooked smiles. Because I dream of one day having love like theirs. For someone to look at me the way they look at each other, with nothing but adoration on they’re faces—pure and unadulterated. A bond so profound that one would go to the ends of Heaven and Hell for the other, literally. Because Dean and Cas taught me that there is more than one way to say, “I love you.” And sometimes you don’t need words at all.
Destiel is the story about a faithless man who prayed and the angel who answered. It’s the story of two people who sacrificed everything they knew to save each other. Who would rather die than live apart. Who said screw you to destiny, we’ll make it up as we go. I ship Destiel because it’s the story of two people saving each other from darkness and loneliness. Because they taught me that it’s okay to make mistakes for the right reasons. In the end, it’s about being willing to give everything up for the one you love. And in turn learning that it’s okay to need someone. I will always believe in Dean and Cas’s story because together they showed me that love will triumph, that existence can be a truly beautiful thing, and even when the odds are stacked against you… taking on the world doesn’t seem so impossible when you are with the one you love.
